We have been coping with my dad's memory impairment for the past decade. My siblings and I live in Phoenix, Milwaukee and Minneapolis. We all live in different towns, full-time careers and families of our own. "Elder care" is a constant source of challenge, stress and frustration. As a former nurse and lifetime care giver, letting go and asking for help are not things my mom does easily. My mom was introduced to CarePatrol through our local Community Center, Creekside. My prayers were answered by Cari Waller. She has a special place in heaven. She was very patient and never gave up on my parents until my dad was safe. She still checks on my mom to see how she is navigating being alone. I started working with CarePatrol 3 years ago when Cari called to learn more about the family relations. My parents kept "waiting" for the right time and I could not get them to move forward with any planning. Resources are finite and she focused on families that WOULD make decisions while my parents kept stalling. Cari kept in touch and checked in to see how things were progressing. She helped me find an elder law attorney to navigate all the legal and financial considerations intertwined with placement. I cannot imagine how people do it under duress as a result of a crisis brought on by lack of planning. Cari assisted us with helping my mom cope, adjusting to change, exploring respite, tours of facilities, understanding services, informing us of what critical financial and legal decisions were needed, placement and moving of my dad. Most people would have walked away. Dad went to a memory care unit last month. I have no idea how we would have managed through COVID with my dad at home. There are many families that wait for the "right time" and catastrophe spurs them into action. Thanks to Cari, they are both safe. There are still several family decisions to make for mom, the house and what comes next. However, with her guidance my family is in a better place. Don't wait for the right time. It never comes. I can honestly say we would have never got it done without you. Thank you CarePatrol and Cari Waller!

God was watching over me when I ran into a parish friend when grocery shopping. She recommended Care Patrol as my father could no longer live at his house with 5 children sharing morning and evening bed, dressing and meal assistance.
