Pension Benefit Information, LLC (“PBI”) provides audit and address research services for many companies, including major banks, insurance companies and government agencies. PBI uses a third party vendor for file transfer services and their software was exploited by an unauthorized third party. Unfortunately, this event impacted tens of millions of people across hundreds of companies, including Puritan Life Insurance Company of America (“Puritan”), who issued your Canvas Annuity. PBI has taken steps to investigate and remediate the problem and has offered any impacted party access to a toll-free assistance line as well as free credit monitoring services for a year. This free service will notify you of any changes made to your credit reports to prevent any misuse of your information. While this was not a Canvas or Puritan breach, we understand that you trust us with your personal information and remain committed to constantly monitoring and enhancing our information security processes and procedures to safeguard your personal information.
