Thank you for your feedback Jennifer! To clarify, in your situation, since you’re aiming to secure the current high interest rate by funding a new annuity, it’s necessary to complete new paperwork. This allows us to properly transfer the funds into a new account with the updated terms. If you had allowed your existing annuity to automatically renew at the end of your initial term, it would have continued under the same policy number and gone into effect at the interest rate available at that time. Unfortunately, this process doesn’t allow for locking in rates ahead of time. Which is what you were looking to achieve! If you have any additional questions we are always here to help!
