Very nice place to stay!!!
I was very apprehensive about staying at a place for such a great price and knowing that I was going to have to sit through a sales presentation, but overall it was a good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and sufficient for what we needed. We stayed in the one bedroom villa with me, my husband and our 2 young children. There was a big King sized bed that 3 of us slept in and our older son took the pull out sofa bed. I do not recommend adults sleeping on the pull out. The room had a full kitchen and washer and dryer. There were plenty of towels and linens. The shower was wonderful! There is a small balcony with a lovely view. The walls are very thin and we could hear lots of conversations and other things going on in the other rooms. There were 2 large TVs with DVD players and a fireplace that we never used. The room is also stocked with lots and lots of kitchenware and a dishwasher. I wasn't sure what would be there so I didn't know exactly what to bring. We didn't take advantage of any of the shuttle services, but they were always around. The parking was very tricky. Just be prepared to walk a little ways to your building. There are heated outdoor pools around the property and a nice playground for the kids. There is a mini golf area as well. The indoor water park was very nice and not too shabby at 18.95 a person to get in. The snack bar above the park was decent, but overpriced as you might expect. There are towels and lockers available (lockers were $10). The presentation... it was scheduled for 12:30 on our last full day. Expect to be there a while. We waited after we checked in for about 30 minutes before we even got to the presentation. The people presenting were very friendly and took us all around the property. When it came to the final closing, we were nice but adamant that we were not interested. They did try several tactics to try and get us to purchase ANYTHING. Even offered us another great deal on a room for another time. We just politely declined... what else could they do? When all was said and done, no one was ugly or mean, and we made it out alive without spending a dime on something that wasn't for us. There were lots of things that we did not choose to do, like the arcade or the spa, but I did like that they had a Starbucks and a little grocery store in the lobby. Traffic is crazy and there was lots of construction going on while we were there, but it was nice to see so many families enjoying themselves. It is conveniently located at the end of the Gatlinburg strip, so you are very close to either there or the fun stuff to do at Pigeon Forge. I don't know that I would pay full price to stay here again, or in the kind of room that we stayed in, as it was a bit cramped had we needed to stay longer. Really the only issue that I had was the thin walls and the lack of sleeping because of that and the fact that there was really no separation within the room - it's pretty much just a giant room with connection by the bathroom. Our family needs some space from each other during the day and we just didn't have it here. But if you got one of the larger rooms it might be better! I am not sure what the full price is, but I am guessing with the location and all the amenities that it is pretty high! Overall, the stay was very pleasant and the trip was wonderful in my kids' eyes! They loved the waterpark the most! If we ever go back to Gatlinburg to stay somewhere else, we will definitely be going back to play there!
