BMW and BMW USA should be ashamed of themselves!
All my life I have been the biggest bmw advocate! I have loved their products and have owned more than 2 handfuls of them. But after my recent experience, I can no longer support bmw or their customer service. I have an 24’ ix and a 23’ i7 and both chargers overheat. Bmw constantly says bring it to the dealer and they test it inside a massive air conditioned shop and say there is no issue. I have multiple ev’s and couple non bmw and all the cables work for the other cars just not the bmw ones. I live in Az and it does get hot here but these cars are sold in America and they are tested for cold and hot environments and yet this issue keeps getting blown off. I know I’m not the only one with an issue and I still get blown off. All everyone keeps saying is spend money, buy a wall box or install ac in your garage. Why should I spend more money on two under warranty vehicles. Everyone’s answer is I don’t know this and I don’t know that. The absolute worst service I’ve seen from bmw in my life. Imagine having two ev’s that you can’t charge. Then they said talk to qmerit and they can have your house checked and I call them and they want $2-500 just to look at it. I live in a brand new house that’s not even 2 years old. I have two 50amp breakers on the house, 40 solar panels and two tesla walls. They keep blaming my house and electric but if it was an issue, my Cadillac and polestar cables would have issues too, but they don’t. Atrocious service from bmw North America. Shame on a billion dollar corporation for not taking care of their customers. Only to point fingers and blame anyone and anything but themselves. This will probably be the last bmws I ever buy and definitely will never recommend them to anyone again. Spend $110k on one car and $165k on another car just to not be able to charge it with the cable that bmw provides and blames it on my house and just keeps saying buy this and buy that. The worst customer service I have seen in a very long time.
