Hello, I am from Southern California, the first time had very ugly experiences with BMO Alto. I have opened CD acct with them and kept calling them back but calls waiting was so long. Two days ago, I was patient enough just to get to talk to the Customer Service who was the female. I told her that I want to close acct since customers line waiting was always long. She told me the acct is automatically closed if no transactions involved. The two small transactions withdrawn from my Chase bank will be automatic reversed. So the call hang up. Yesterday, I logged in to my Chase and saw 2 transactions of $100 K withdrawn from my Chase to BMO Alto without my knowledges. I was v ery mad since this person must be a Crime in order to do that. I called my Bank immediately to dispute and asked their lawyer to track the person who did that. My bank already initiated the dispute to get my money back to my Chase acct. I have no way to take "1 star" out of rating.

worst bank ever with the worst customer service, so rude and most of the time dont even know what they are talking about since none of them speaks english.

I have their credit card because they offered reward points. Rude customer service, especially on the rewards points line, very long hold time, she referred me to a rewards points website that didn't open. I'll never use this bank again.

Terrible, I really don't think anyone who works there can speak english. I was trying to track down my title after paying off my loan and it was an absolute nightmare. Stay away from this bank if you want to maintain your sanity.

Worst banking experience of my life. Customer support queues are awful, I was just trying to open an account and they spun me around in circles between the Phillipines (I think) and the US, for 2hr and 45 min and then hung up on me. All I was trying to do is to get them to help me CREATE an account login after I xferred money into the account. (but did not have a login yet, it was not presented to me to do so). STAY AWAY!! I had to block them from the other side as they would not let me into the account I created.

Worst bank in the world. Bad service, disconnects, just horrible, PLEASE GO BANKRUPT and do the world justice. You are about to be sued, align with canadas decision... you can't even share info its illegal.

This is honestly the worst bank I have ever applied for. I completely regret applying to this bank. The only reason I wanted this bank was to apply for a CD because of the high interest rates. First, I tried to applied for the CD but it said I didn't have any records. In all my years of banking and applying for credit cards, I was never told this by a bank. So I decided to put my spouse as the holder of the CD. I was able to do that. When I got the CD under my spouse's name, I wanted to put my child as a beneficiary. BMO says it's an online bank but it's not. You can't do anything online!!! I have to call the phone number they provide. I call the number and the representative sets up the beneficiary and tells me that I have to wait 30 days for the beneficiary to get set up. 30 DAYS!!! I asked if I would get any documentation but the rep says I can only see on my online bank. I still don't know if the beneficiary is set up or not. Then, I wanted to put myself as a joint owner along with my spouse but I can't do that online either! I call the number to set myself up as a joint owner, and I'm told that the representative can't do that. The rep transfers me to her supervisor and the supervisor tells me she can set me up as a joint account owner. Unfortunately, I got disconnected and I didn't get her name or phone number to call back. I call BMO again and a rep from the PHILIPPINES tells me to go to the nearest BMO branch to be set up as a joint owner. I would've gladly gone to the nearest BMO branch except the nearest branch is over 100 MILES away from me. The representative can hardly speak understandable English and doesn't know what America looks like or know where we live. Eventually, I'm set up as another beneficiary. I spend a week, making calls to BMO to get the same response. "gO To yOur nEAreST bRanCH WhICh iS oVEr 100 miLeS fRoM WhErE yOu LiVe aND thEn yoU CaN bE SeT uP aS a JoInT oWneR". Finally, I get transferred to a rep. He tells me that he'll get it set up and he'll call back. They will never call you back. It's a joke. I call back one more time, telling myself this will be the last call to BMO. A representative finally sets me up as a joint owner. I have never had any experience with a bank as bad as BMO. Save yourself the misery and don't apply for this bank.

It is nice and refreshing, specially nowadays, when a financial institution keeps true to its word. BMO’s management demonstrated that to me just a few minutes ago when a supervisor reversed a fee that was charged to me 5 months ago. Back then, I called to ask about the fee, and I had been told it would be reversed but it wasn’t. At this point I wasn’t concerned much about the fee $, but the principal. If you are looking for a financial institution that is willing to be honest and true to its word, BMO is the answer. Also, I have been blessed to have been helped by nice, understanding, and Knowledgeble people every time I have a concern. It seems to be their nature to be kind and honest.
