Helping with muscle weakness in right leg, easier to lift knee

My special Bioness experience began with Rob Meyer 412 420 9721. His prominence in my journey is because, as a gait specialist, he targeted my drop foot condition and perfectly set my device parameters. Further, he met with other physical therapists in my neurologists group to be sure the RX was perfect. Dr. Thomas Scott is the top of Pittsburgh's neurological teaching at Allegheny General Hospital. I have MS, I was diagnosed in 2009. I got my device the end of May. Today, September 26th I ran. I wear my device daily and have increased my steps two fold. The device allows me to focus ahead, feel the alternating stimulation with comfort and surety and stride with confidence. It was this confidence that Rob gave me when he recognized that Bioness device was the icing on the cake of my recovery. I knew about Bioness earlier in my journey but also knew I needed to work hard first to go from a rolinator walker to walking sticks and then a cane. I worked five years to go from a block distance to a mile. Today I ran. It was only seven minutes but it felt like I had grown wings. I am 71 years old. Thank you!

I’ve been happy with my L300 Go cuff and have seen an improvement in my balance, ankle stability and overall feeling of improvement with my drop foot. I’ve been pleased with the customer support and my local representative and the communication.

If you’re doing research that led you to find the Bioness L300 Go, I assume you or someone you love has also been on a unique and challenging journey. Since getting diagnosed with my spinal cord tumor (T5-T9), it’s been 28 years. I have nerve damage that affects my gait, resulting in foot drop in both of my feet. I’ve tried many orthotics/AFOs, years of physical therapy, multiple rounds of Botox injections for leg tone/spasticity, and various oral medications. Certain things helped, and other treatments led to negative side effects, such as over-weakening my muscles. Some medical professionals have been helpful and encouraging throughout my journey, while others have been dismissive, leaving me beyond discouraged. At 31 years old, I’ve lived through many ups and downs, navigating life with a disability. It was just recently that I decided to take yet another look at new medical advancements and resources that could assist. I’ve now had my devices (Bioness L300 Go) for almost three months, and I can confidently say it is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. After discovering Bioness, I shortly met James Sloan. To say that James is a medical professional who will encourage you and fight to improve your quality of life is an understatement. His 7+ years of physical therapy experience, thorough knowledge of the technology, compassion, and patience to assist throughout the entire process was so refreshing. I strongly believe that you must advocate for yourself when navigating the medical industry and you must be particular with who’s a part of your medical team. James stood firmly in my corner to fight insurance and made the most significant impact in getting my devices fully covered. I can’t promise that the Bioness L300 Go will work for you, but I can say it’s worth the try, and James will give you the biggest shot at success.

While the technology is great, and certain features work well for me, when using it in WALKING mode (on my left leg) it turns my foot out to the left while stimulating me. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it makes me kick my walker or kick the wheel of a shopping cart, which could make me trip and fall. It has done this from day one, when the Bioness rep set it up for me and he said he wasn't too concerned about it. (I think he thought it would correct itself, but it has not). The most frustrating part is that when I initially tried on and tested a Bioness Device, the "sample" device that the Bioness rep had, did NOT turn my foot out to the left. I'm wondering if the one he has for testing is the same model as the one I received. Because it worked a lot better on me than the one I bought. :-( Edited to add: I've called the rep and am meeting with him this week.

Very helpful support system from both representatives and phone support system. They spent hours over the phone solving a problem with my Biones.
