The tech that did the vein poke evidently hit my vein hard and all the fluids that were being returned to my body instead went all over inside my left arm and I was experiencing some mild discomfort as the donation was moving along. I let the gal know it ‘felt different’ as I’ve donated plenty with no issues, but she didn’t seem to think anything was wrong.
The next day my arm hurt so bad on the site of poke and had begun bruising down my forearm and my bicep. Two days later my entire arm was so painful and bruised. I went into dr and was informed that the vein was bruised due to the incorrect insertion of the needle by the tech and I bruised due to the fluids going all over into my arm. Was not a great experience and very painful, not to mention embarrassing explaining that I was not beaten…. It was BioLife!

A man named Kevin that works at Biolife…
A man named Kevin that works at Biolife in Columbus, Georgia doesn't want me to donate again because He have something against me for some reason and came up with something so I couldn't donate and He came up with I have a body odor, I love to donate plasma to save lives but I'm not going to be back at Biolife because I'm not welcome to donate there, I'm handicapp and that could be the reason that He doesn't want me to donate anymore but that's fine with me, Have a blessed day

Return donor
I have recently started going back after taking about a year and a half break. Since I have come back my experience has been so much better but I think it is because I am coming earlier in the day. Staff is great.

medical aspect fine. Rude/annoying staff
I’ve been here 5 times June to July 2023, on a variety of days of the week times of day, so experienced a variety of staff. In my experience, the medical aspect fine, but only minus the interpersonal experience. I have personally gotten my questions answered fine and they’ve been mostly attentive to me as needed, not unfriendly in a direct way to me. But they get distracted often. Often in the middle of tending to a patient, just standing chit chatting, laughing very loudly, yelling across the room right next to my ear as they’re getting my machine ready, which to anybody, obviously, is very annoying. 1, hello, pay attention to your job and get me out of here thank you. 2, you’re screaming in my ear. Ouch. Just talking crap, nothing they urgently need to yell across the room in my ear for. And I’ve observed at least 3-4 different employees on numerous occasions gossiping about both other employees AND patients! At least twice in my presence, gossiping to a whole line of patients about another patient who just walked away! Loudly!.. Last week an employee went on loudly to everyone in line and the employee next to her at the counter about how one patient is so dumb because she got confused of where she was supposed to be, and the employee next to her agreeing. I’ve seen another employee go around the room showing a picture of a patient to other employees talking about how she looks, not subtly. This middle school behavior creates a really uncomfortable environment at times, sometimes just hostile. Furthermore slowing down workflow by taking the time to make a scene about each little thing that rubs you the wrong way at your job…and especially in a medical setting, clients should not ever have to feel nervous to ask questions cause the nurses have a tendency to belittle patients, call them names. Etc. For obvious reasons.. This is at least 1/4 of the staff I’ve come in contact with who act like bratty middle schoolers.. It’s just ridiculous unacceptable behavior. You’re at work. Act like you’re at work, like you’re an adult and a professional.. I can easily see this behavior issue deterring people from donating. I feel really bad for patients sometimes coming in the line of fire of their verbal abuse. Jobs aren’t fun. You will sometimes be stressed and frustrated while at work, nobody cares. Majority of people are stressed by their jobs while also, bare minimum, refraining from lashing out at their jobs.

Sketchy, feels like a scam
I can't help but feel that this is such a sham. You book your appointment WAY in advance (like two weeks in advance) and then get there only to wait around for four hours before even getting a chance to donate. It is especially bad on Sundays as it seems they are ALWAYS understaffed, and the staff that does get scheduled is frantic and disgruntled at the amount of work they are being forced to do. With the scheduled appointments, this company knows how many people are coming (no walk ins) and still only had the bare minimum available.
Then it comes to the bonus incentives. It seems nice - warning up to $700 in one month? Yes! But myself, my coworker, and my coworker's roommate all had the exact same experience. We got a few donations in (3 out of 8) before being called and told something was wrong with our most recent donation. For me, it was that my alpha levels are too high.... Sure. Ok. So they said they needed to take a sample before I donate again. Ok sure. But I had to wait a week before giving the sample, then the sample would take 10-15 days to process. You can kiss that incentive goodbye! They were very quick to say that they offer no extensions or restarts on the incentive, before I even asked.
Overall, I wouldn't do this again. It's too bad, because the donating part isn't bad at all and I love that it is for a good cause, but everything else is just sketchy as hell.
