I love better help!

The first therapist I worked with seemed to decide one issue was more important than all others and only ever focused on that despite being asked to deviate. The second questioned me several times throughout the day about very personal things on a holiday more than a week prior to our initial session. The last message asked why I wasn’t engaged and committed. I was spending time with my family.

Betterhelp/online counseling was not my idea of a good vehicle to pursue initially. Covid made it a "try-able" option. I entered with doubt & caution. The journaling, interaction with my counselor at times thru texting was a GREAT feature that has enhanced my work. The video sessions are helpful too. I would highly recommend this as a way for others to dig in & trust their way forward to enhanced personal growth & understanding. It actually opened up my experience to better meet "my needs & style of learning" by becoming MORE personal & More frequent than 1-2 visits a month in a traditional counseling session. I caught & presented issues as they happened via message & journaling. My counselor invested in "hearing & clarifying my confusion" in timely brief responses. She didn't "adopt" me. She guided & facilitated my journey in a way that enhanced my growth at my pace.

My counselor was very knowledgeable! She put me on a track to work with CBT which has been very empowering.

Betterhelp makes it easy to find a skilled therapist 24/7. The initial questionnaire is extremely well designed to identify the key issues and feelings you are facing. Based on your responses, it matches you with a therapist that is experienced in that subject area e.g. anxiety, grief, relationships, trauma, substance abuse, etc.

Betterhelp is a counseling platform that helped me immensely. From available weekly sessions with my therapist, to groupinars in a variety of topics, there are many resources for people who are needing help.

Would give lthis 0 stars but can't so 1 will have to do, horrible company don't actually care they take your money before even speaking to a counciler, they are IMPOSSIBLE To get a hold of, no councilors available when I need them all opposite sides of the world, completely pointless, refund me now

Better help may seem weird at first because it's all based online. But I can promise you that the people who work with Better help are professionals and they genuinely take out the time to help you. My councilor took extra time to have material and resources prepared for me beforehand for several sessions. That showed me that this isn't just a 9-5 job for him but something he is passionate about.
