One session - £480 taken. Diaries do not always align to being able to have one session a week (on both sides). Explain to me how this is helpful when dealing with mental health and vulnerable people. No issue with the therapist who was good.

BetterHelp is super affordable and convenient for me. I can find a comfortable spot right in my own home and have my sessions. The app is great as well! It was really difficult to find a therapist who was taking new patients. I turned to BetterHelp after a nasty breakup and started with one therapist. I gave it 5-6 sessions before I decided to switch to a different therapist and found my current therapist to be a better fit for my needs. That’s the most appealing aspect of BetterHelp - you can just change therapists without any awkward “final session” or explanation. It helps to be honest with yourself and with your provider about what you want and need from therapy. Telehealth does require a more direct approach and for you as the client to actually talk and have a game plan for the sessions. My current therapist sends a weekly list of group therapy sessions and classes that are offered thru BH and I find those to be a beneficial addition to my regular therapy sessions. The cost is reasonable and less than in person therapists in my area and I like the flexibility of the scheduling process. In a world where mental health services can feel impossible to find BetterHelp is a helpful and affordable option. I definitely recommend BetterHelp.

10000 emails to sign up and before 1st Appt. Radio silence after the first Appt. Platform charged monthly because it hopes you'll forget to cancel. It's a scam. Edit: I've cancelled my membership and requested a refund. This is not to do with the therapist. It's to do with the platform and service that I now realised has charged me US$900.00 for a single session. Not a single email communication after the first session even when the therapist had messaged me through the system. The annoyance that many emails can only be trumped by being completely deserted and have $900.00 taken out of my account.

Horrible and useless, It's super hard to choose your own psychologist. I got matched with a psychologist that kept missing our sessions because her laptop conviniently breaks down but the thing is like if your laptops broken you could have texted and informed us that you won't be able to make it in the session. instead made me wait there for 40 mins. not only once but it happened multiple times. the psychologist didn't even ask any questions at all as well, she didn't share any methods or coping mechanism like breathing techniques for my panic attacks even though i told her from the first session that was my main concern. when I reach out to support from betterhelp team, it takes so long for them to get back. On top of that availability of the psychologist was very limited.

Easy scheduling! Once you put in your insurance and agree to the billing, everything else is automatic once you have therapy. It doesn't adjust copays like my experience with competitor sites. My therapist is within 45 minutes of where i live, so she's familiar with areas i might refer to. Download the app and after that you just put in a pass code and walllah there is all your options to message the therapist, journal your experiences, schedule appointments for future visits, and different assessments to aid the therapist! Highly recommend!
