Terrible company; we had to euthanize Lilly our kitty and the account couldn't be found however the number we gave them has been the same the entire time after hours of arguing with them they"found" the account and fought us every step of the way to close the account and stop being charged. Do yourselves the favor and never go here.

Like many of these consumers, I trusted Banfield for years. As long as your dog is healthy and fit, there really isn’t any alarm that what you are paying for is just your dog’s shots over a monthly payment plan. You get fooled that it is an insurance plan - but it is not. It’s a payment plan for the well check-ups. This year reality hit when my 14 yr old shih tzu poodle had what I thought was an eye infection. I took her to Banfield, who gave me some drops and said it was nothing big. A week later, the infection still existed, so I took her back, only to get more drops and told eye was getting better. 5 days later I returned for a follow up and received an emergency call from doctor saying I needed to take my dog to the ophthalmologist for treatment ASAP because she was about to loose her eye. $2000 later, the eye was not saved and per the eye clinic, the infection was due to an ulcer and and underlying condition - not an infection. I shouldn’t learned from that, but a few weeks later I returned to Banfield because her hind leg was shaking. After “examining” her for 8 hours, the vet claimed nothing was wrong and some older dogs have legs that just shake. I personally stopped the vet as she was going to her car, and said - are you sure. She said yes, perhaps I should try some vitamins to help with her bones since she was getting older. AGAIN - the situation didn’t improve. Returned to Banfield again - and was told another time that perhaps my dog was just getting older and the reason for her starting to yelp when I tried to pick her up was that she was just becoming sensitive. Took her to another Banfield location, where doctor took x-rays (why wasn’t this done the first 2x??) and vet told me that the leg was shaking because the bone had deteriorated and my dog was unable to stand properly. Also advised the cause was usually due to cancer. The vet advised that they could have a specialist come in to do an ultrasound and confirm, but it would cost me approx $600. The x-rays were $200. I agreed, but after a week of no one following up and my dog experiencing bowel issues I took her to the emergency room. Within hours they confirmed 1) dog had Cushing disease and should’ve been treated previously and 2) she did have cancer. I am now faced with a dog who has now lost bowel and urination control and is watching her quality of life decreasing each week. Eventually we will have to put her down, but I am so angry with the vets at Banfield lying that everything is okay- when in reality they just dont know how to deal with sick dogs. You are better off getting REAL PET INSURANCE and going to a REAL VET so that you can have your dog seen for both wellness and ill visits. It’s a waste of money to just pay for shots for $55/mo.

We have been taking our pets to Banfield in Hillsboro Oregon for years, paying 99.00 per month for the insurance, called yesterday because my boy had an open sore, scratching, bloody and yelping! Nope, can’t see him, don’t have time! Spent $250 at the emergency vet. I will be canceling the insurance and will now take my babies to Frontier. Lost a loyal customer

My wife was an employee of banfield for many years , she would say Banfield were great when it comes to helping those with mental health challenges. Until the time when she needed it. Banfield rejected her claim for short term disability meaning during these uncertain times when money is already hard to earn she didn't get paid. The team that disallowed the claim waited for 3 weeks to send the denial letter out, which then placed greater stress on my wife and great financial stress on us. My wife spoke with her treating Doctor who said that she needs at least another 2 weeks off, so at this stage that's 5 weeks with no income. I'm very disappointed in Banfield, disappointed that the company that speaks loudly on helping those with mental health problems, when it comes to the crunch doesn't step up to the plate. With this going on I would HIGHLY suggest anyone looking for employment with this company think long and hard before signing that bottom line. What they said and what the actually do are two entirely different things

Totally bamboozled. The vet talked me into going from the $17 plan to $74 stating my dog's dental and chest x-rays would be taken care of. Three months later when it's time to perform the services the vet says because of his heart condition they wouldn't put him under anesthesia. So I had to pay $200 for his cardiologist to do the x-ray, which by the way you don't need to put them under for!! And cardiologist said his heart has not changed in the last year. Called and asked to go back to old plan since I can't use these services and they would only take off $20. So I'm now paying $552 a year more than my original plan for NOTHING. Canceling at first opportunity.

We Took Our Kitty Naomi, Into Banfield,Animal Hospital,@ ,17036 No. 7th Ave, In Phoenix, Az, For The Third Time, For A Bad Eye Infection, & A Large Lump Above Her Eye, The First Two Visits Were O.K,The Staff Was Courteous, & Kind, Until We Took Her In Yesterday,Saturday 9/26, & Where We Saw Another Vetenarian, Who Refused To Treat Our Kitty, Even Tho We Had The Money Upfront For The Procedure, To Check Her For Cancer !!..She Wanted a Large Amount Of Money $1,500.00 Upfront,For Treatment For Her Naomi's Eye, The Tumor Above Her Eye, In Which Her Eye Is Now Completely Swollen, & Infection In Her Nasal Passage, & Her Body!!, We Were Turned Down, Because Of Not Having All Of The $15,OO.OO For Treatment, The Doctor We Saw Was Very Rude & Errigant, & Unprofessional Towards My Husband & I, & Also Made Various Rude Comments, & Also Told Us To Get Another Opinion, At Another Clinic, Or Have Her Put Down Because Of Our Kitty's Age, She May Not Make It Out Of The Surgery, & Another Comment Was Made From This Dr,Questioned Us As To Are We Keeping Our Naomi Alive, For Us, Or For Her!!!.. Which Was Very Rude. & Which Came To The Conclusion, That This Dr, Is Only Out For The Money, Unless You Can Pay Up Upfront, For Treatment!!!..We Are All Done With Banfield, & Absolutely Would Not Recommend Taking Your Pets There For Treatment As Well!!!!!.. The Medications, We Got For Naomi Were Totally Useless!!!..Their Out Just For The Money, & Don't Waste Your Money On Banfield Animal Clinic!!!.,Without Even Giving Naomi A Blood Test First, To Find Out Exactly What's Wrong With Naomi, This Witch Doctor, Pressed On The Large Lump Above Her Right Eye, & Automatically Assumed It Is A Tumor, Or Cancer, Then Told My Husband & I That We're Welcome To Get A Second Opinion, Or Take Naomi Home To Die!! We Asked This Dr To Do A Blood Test On Naomi, & Take Her To Their Animal Hospital For Treatment, But She ( This Dr ) Refused!!!.. We Will Be Taking This Matter To Our Attourney !! I Give Them A Big ,0!!!

Brandy answered the phone, I asked for an appointment for my puppy and no questioned asked, she told me we are booked till middle of October/ November. Which one is it Brandy October or November. First time calling and last one. After reading all the reviews, I would prefer to go somewhere else. Banfield if you really care about your business read your reviews and change your practice however start by hiring the appropriate staff.

Oh come on! Banfield has a great wellness program the dental cleanings A lone are worth the monthly payments,,the wellness program is for prevention,they check my dog twice a year for all kinds of Diseases , vaccines and a over all look at her eyes,ears and coat , and Behavior, included in the wellness program . Benfield has always done right by me.I was going to Banfield in Washington state now I’m in California Banfield is everywhere all over the country That’s a big reason why I chose their program also .To me it’s the best value for my dog and I. my dog is in great health wonderful teeth , due to Banfields wellness program and experienced veterinarians and their staff even those people behind the computers they all have titles they’ve all been through school they’re all very knowledgeable and they care about my dog !! Just look into it ask questions. I get to take some of the Credit for my dogs beautiful teeth and wellness . Yes it’s true I feed her good food, and brush her teeth every single night and a cleaning once a year at banfield, I give her lots of love 💕 fresh water with ice cubs 😂she has beautiful white teeth and yummy doggie breath LOL at 6 years old with lot of energy and love 💕 to give Banfield veterinarians and their wellness program !!! They get 5 star rating from my dog and I .Sincerely Julie & Jazzy bug !!doing well in Sky Valley!!! 🌞🌴🐾🐾🌺🌿
