This clinic is a complete joke and their customer service is absolutely atrocious. I explicitly booked two in-room appointments for my dog, and my cat. Instead of honoring what I scheduled, they suddenly demanded I drop them off and leave them to wait for three to four hours.
When I called them out on this bait and switch, the staff had the audacity to lie straight to my face. They claimed they tried to call me beforehand to let me know about the change. The receptionist even doubled down and insisted she left a voicemail. I checked my phone right there. Zero missed calls. Zero voicemails. It was pure fiction to cover up their own glaring incompetence.
Instead of apologizing, their ultimate solution was dismissively telling me to take my pets elsewhere. I absolutely should have done that in the first place, but I have certainly learned my lesson now. I will never set foot in this establishment again.
If you enjoy having your time entirely wasted, receiving zero actual care, and being gaslit by staff who blame you for not listening to non-existent voicemails, this is the perfect place for you. Everyone else should stay far away.

I made an appointment for my sick dog…
I made an appointment for my sick dog online. It was confirmed and I even checked in my Puppi the day of the visit I get there. The lady says oh we don’t have any appointment here of you being scheduled today. I said I do have an appointment I even showed her the email that I had. I said I’m very livid and upset. She said well it’s our computer and there’s nothing that we can do. Do you want me to get somebody else? I said absolutely so she goes back if she get someone else, the lady comes up and she’s being very rude and disrespectful. She even got loud. I told her you need to turn down that tune cause I will match your energy and I meant that literally I don’t know who this lady thought she was talking to but I had time today. She picks up the phone and call the police. I said OK I’ll be outside but I said you know what she gotta come outside after work. Very disrespectful unprofessional place do not take your dog or your cat litter or pets in general. The address is 3820 William Penn Highway, Monroeville PA 15235 again do not take your pet there.

Masterclass in Administrative Decay, Masquerading as a Medical Facility?!
Review Rating: ⭐☆☆☆☆ (Should be negative stars)
An academic analysis of the Banfield Animal Hospital in North Haven reveals a staggering dissonance between their corporate branding and the reality of their operational incompetence. To experience this clinic is to witness an masterclass in administrative decay, masquerading as a medical facility. They hold a mediocre 3.5-star rating on Google, 2.0-star rating on Yelp and a 1.4-star rating on Trustpilot which is collectively an overly generous mathematical anomaly when in it should be a 0-star rating realistically! In reality, this location operates less like an Ivy League-caliber veterinary institution and more like an unhygienic, fraudulent racket that smells vividly and distinctively of petrified animal urine.
The structural rot begins at the top of the hierarchy. Maria Reyes, the district manager who ostensibly oversees this and other Connecticut locations, is a complete disgrace to professional leadership. She conducts herself with the unearned audacity of an entitled, condescending brat. It is truly comical how she internalizes an aura of supreme importance while remaining painfully inadequate at managing her district. Rather than enforcing accountability, her leadership culture breeds the exact dismissive, adversarial, and condescending communication style that trickles down to her subordinates.
Case in point: Rachel, the "lead" at the North Haven office. Rachel is the textbook definition of an emotionally ignorant, disheveled "Karen" who lacks the basic psychological compartmentalization required to leave her personal baggage at home. Consequently, clients seeking straightforward medical documentation are subjected to her emotional volatility. What should be a seamless, routine retrieval of veterinary records instead becomes an exhausting, prolonged saga of delays, excuses, and avoidance. Asking for basic continuity of care documents should not require navigating a gauntlet of administrative petulance.
Then we arrive at the medical staff, spearheaded by the crowning jewel of clinical ineptitude: Dr. Steven Brocklehurst. Dr. Brocklehurst is a complete joke—a petulant man-child desperately trying to convince himself of his own significance. His profound intellectual deficits and allergic reaction to facts are highly reminiscent of Donald Trump. He and his staff masquerade as medical geniuses, yet they are incapable of processing basic, repeated instructions.
Far more concerning than their cognitive limitations, however, are their highly questionable, borderline unlawful operational practices. The clinic actively pushes a deceptively structured, highly inaccurate "pet insurance plan" that borders on consumer fraud. Furthermore, their medical reporting is a creative work of fiction. The veterinary notations, diagnoses, and vaccination records are built entirely on a foundation of lies, assumptions, and fraudulent reporting.
This is not an isolated incident; it is a systemic, pathological pattern of unprofessionalism. If you value your time, your hard-earned money, your sanity, and—above all—the actual livelihood of your pet, avoid this administrative circus. Banfield North Haven should not just be avoided; it should be banned from operating entirely.

Puts Profit Over People and Their Loved Ones
My dog recently passed away. She was 13 years old, and over the course of her entire life, I took her to Banfield Pet Hospital for her basic medical needs.
As you can most likely see, I am giving the company a 1 out of 5 stars rating, so you may be wondering why I stayed a costumer of theirs for over a decade if I was dissatisfied with their care. Let me explain.
When initially choosing a veterinarian for my dog, I decided to go with Banfield Pet Hospital because I had heard a couple of favorable reviews on them, the staff seemed friendly enough, and I felt like their Optimum Wellness Plan fit my financial situation as it provided me a discounted rate on their services. When I first signed up for the plan, I specifically remember being told that it was a monthly-based payment, and that I was free to cancel at any time.
For the majority of my dog’s life, she was in good health, so during that time period, I mainly only needed to bring her into Banfield for her yearly comprehensive exams, her needed shots, her needed parasite control, and her dental cleaning.
Towards the last few years of her life, her health slightly declined and she needed a little more medical attention than before. It seemed like the veterinarians and their technicians were less knowledgeable on more complex medical issues, but I still felt like their basic care services were sufficient, so I continued to bring my dog there.
I did not fully comprehend at the time just how influentially connected some of her minor health concerns were to some of her more major ones. I, unfortunately, would not realize that until about a week before her passing where I was told by several staff members at my local Banfield that they could not perform a specific test on her because she was not in a stable enough condition to get an accurate reading. They rescheduled her for the following week to see if she became stable enough to perform the test. Two days later, her condition did not improve, so I decided to take her to a credible emergency veterinary hospital. When I was explaining the situation to them, I was told by three separate veterinarians that the staff over at Banfield should have, in fact, performed that test on her, even with the state she was in, because while it would not be able to give an accurate reading for her base line, it could still show whether or not she was in a dangerous zone. As you could most likely guess, she was in that danger zone.
While I still feel greatly disheartened by that misinformation, that was not the cause of her passing. With her age and her medical history, it was simply her time. So, with all of that being taken into consideration, if you had asked me even just a few days ago what I thought about Banfield, I would have told you that while I did not feel like they were capable of medical needs that went beyond basic care, I was mostly satisfied with the care they could give. For that, I reward them a single star, but they lost their remaining stars from me a couple of days ago when I had to deal with their billing services.
I went online to their website to cancel my Optimum Wellness Plan. I saw that I was able to turn off the auto-renew feature for the following year, but if I needed to cancel the entire plan, I would have to call their customer service. I think it goes without saying that I was fairly confused about what the difference between the two options were, and why I had to call to cancel instead of just being able to cancel online. So, I called that number, and I was told by them that the maximum price coverage limit that I had on my plan was not completely used when receiving their services. They said I still had a remaining/available balance of almost $700.00, and since that it was never used, and can obviously no longer be used, that I have to pay for the remaining amount. I was told that I could pay it all off now or I could continue making monthly payments for the next year until it is completely paid. I do not have $700.00 to spare, as I am sure most other people do not as well, so, for the next year, I will be paying for something that I can no longer use.
Over the entire 13 years that I was a customer of theirs, none of that was ever coherently or accurately explained to me. Also, in my opinion, what is especially mind-boggling about this is the fact that most of the medical services that my dog received was not completely covered by the plan. Most of the time, there was a certain amount that I had to pay out of pocket and it usually was not a small fee—It was just small compared to the overall amount of the bill.
I feel like this was incredibly misleading. This is one of the most heartbreaking experiences I have ever gone through, and I feel like Banfield capitalized off of my grief.
If you have an animal companion, and you are looking for a veterinarian, I would not recommend Banfield Pet Hospital.

This was by far my WORSE experience ever with a vet. I own a sphinx cat, sweet as can be to everyone he meets. He has traveled crossed the US doing meet and greets with thousands of people. He goes in for ringworm on his eye and his shots at 7 in the morning. I get a call @ 3 in the afternoon saying nothing about is eye but a "Scab" on his neck, a ear infection and they tell me he is aggressive. ALSO that I have to pay extra for the skin swab on his neck, completely ignoring his eye. I signed up for their pet care plus to have that included. I tell them that I'll pick him up in 30 minutes and be on our way. I come up there and see they have him in the back and the "scab" in question is a bruise they left on his neck from holding him down to clean his ears. I went to a second vet for another opinion, and they confirmed it was a bruise. It's vile that they have the gal to not only injure my cat but charge me for it as well with their predatory pet care plan. I have sent this into my local news outlets, and I will keep in touch about this matter. This was uncalled for and extremely unprofessional.

Great vets and techs, good customer service
I think location probably makes a big difference. Even just local vets tend to have very inconsistent reviews. I'm in Pensacola FL and our Banfield vet has been fabulous. Every vet and tech we've seen has been awesome. My shih tzu has bad allergies and they treat him well. I really recommend their pet programs because it can save you a lot of money. We had to have one of our pets euthanized a few years ago and they were great then too, very respectful of our wishes. I've had my dog's teeth cleaned there, and everything went smoothly. I haven't had any problems getting an appointment when I need it. The only issue I e had is that their app has some glitches.

BANFIELD DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR PET
I wrote a bad review, they responded with a generic write to your email and we will discuss...I STILL have not heard from anyone! Banfield truly doesn't care about the owners! This has opened my eyes about Banfield and I will continue to spread the word with daily bad reviews adding in that the corporate office doesn't even respond. Don't waste your time writing to "BanfieldCARES"
You guys are absolutely terrible!

Disappointed
Disappointed! Received an email stating my dog was behind on vaccines. Made appointment only to get there and have one vaccine needed. Left my appointment today as I was given sample pain medication for my dog and get charged for samples. The girl at the desk went to charge me only to tell me she had no idea what the charges were for! Come on seriously! When I called to inquire I was told her way of saying samples is a dry run for 2 weeks then return to pay for blood work. Possibly one should advise the patient of cost of drug instead of offering samples
