Backwater ReptilesReviews of backwaterreptiles.com

From Backwater California location - was sent hatchling quickly from their florida location. Tuesday Ordered my Penisula Cooter Hatchling and it arrived Thursday. Although the UPS Handler left it on its side I got to the box quickly and the turtle appears to be super active and healthy. I'll know more in the next couple days as it adjusts. If there are any issues I will update my review. I ordered another one from Myturtlestore should arrive by this evening, I read multiple negative reviews about my turtle store turtles regarding DOAs and health issues. So we shall see if both stores are a good ordering option.

Received a hatchling normal ball python, shipping was right on time and the animal is healthy, docile, and active straight out of the box. I'm loving my new baby and could not be happier with my experience!

Our tortoise came perfect and beautiful! Best gift for my sons 8th birthday he is in love with “Squirtles!l” fast and straightforward service, he came nicely shipped and healthy! Would definitely buy from again if the need arose!

Sent me a pet with missing toes! When i sent email to resolve issues missing toes being the main one, i got dead ended. Do not buy from them, you wont know what you are paying for till its to late.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We ordered a bearded dragon and the poor thing arrived so sick. He hasn’t eaten anything, he barely moves, and he’s probably going to die soon because we’ve already tried everything. We’re trying to contact a vet but there are none in our area that are open on a Sunday. Do NOT buy from here.

I purchased a baby tegu. He is beautiful and ate immediately. Have had him several days and seems to be growing daily.

Disgusting... made a purchase on a ribbon snake the total was 60 bucks. As it turns out they cant ship to my location. It's been much over a week and I haven't got a refund !!!! 😡😡😡😡🖕🖕🖕

If you click on their "wholesale" link, you will open an external link to Wholesale Exotics. Your card will be charged to Backwater Reptiles LLC, you'll get a receipt from Backwater Reptiles... but if you contact them, they'll tell you it's a different company and to contact that company instead. Here's my quick 1-2-3 fix. Always pay any online transactions with a major credit card, preferably one that you have had the longest relationship with. In my case, I paid with my Amex. As soon as I got an email reply telling me it's a "different" company, I called Amex to dispute the charge. As proof, all you have to do is submit your email interactions, they're basically saying it's another company, but the real icing on the cake is screenshoting (or linking) to a response that they made to a consumer complaint on BBB on 12/26/2017. They specifically stated that they no longer own Wholesale Exotics and blahblahblah. That will be the slam dunk as far as your credit card company is concerned. You will get your charge reverse if it's already posted, but even if it's still just a "pending" charge, alerting your credit card will make sure that the charge has been flagged. Here's the difference with a refund, you're basically waiting for them to issue you a refund if they feel motivated to do it (and they definitely won't be); a disputed charge guarantees you a formal investigation by your creditor... which one are you going to trust for the best outcome? The last reply was them telling me I would have gotten a refund right away if I hadn't disputed it (that's false and misleading), I didn't even bother to reply because I've already did what I needed to do.
