Worst experience ever with Backwater Reptiles! I would give it 0 stars if possible. My chameleon was shipped from Fl to my home in GA, as hot as temps get, and they DID NOT put a cool pack in! Of course he arrived DOA!!! The only resolution they would give me was to pay $29.99 to have another shipped to me and said no refund bc temps were in the 90s. If he arrived dead with a cool pack, I would have said well that was the chance we took. But to ship without a cool pack, they gave him no shot at living!!! The sad part was opening the box in front of my 6 year old son to find our new addition to the family, DEAD!

I ordered 2 spiderlings a cobalt blue and a Antilles. They both came in small containers. My wife and I opened over a white sheet and a big tubberwear bowl knowing how small the spiderling could be. We spent some time looking for it with lights and carefully with the tones and found nothing. We messaged and I explained and it seemed like they didn't care or was out fault. Im an honest writing man and work hard for what I want. No need to lie about a spider missing. Just upset that they didn't care

I ordered a CB hatchling Clubtail Iguana and they sent me a field collected juvenile. They admitted this and only after growing back and forth, and trying to tell me O did not get the wrong animal since it was the same species. They did offer me a full refund if I sent the animal back, but since it was already skinny and stressed, I chose not to.

I placed a number of orders for live crickets with this company in the last six months, and also ordered one live anole. Initially, I had a positive experience. However, about a month ago, I ordered 500 crickets. What I received was maybe half that number. There were only one or two dead in the box, so they did not die in transit. I didn’t say anything, and ordered again when necessary. This time the order of 500 only contained about 50 crickets. Again, there were not enough dead in the container to account for the difference. I contacted customer service, and was informed that they would not help me because I had not contacted them within three hours of the delivery of the crickets. So, three issues. 1. The three hour policy is ridiculous. I understand if we’re talking about the arrival of a dead lizard worth hundreds of dollars. This is a box of crickets, Backwater. Show some flexibility. 2. Customer service is pretty snarky, and would at times just ignore my emails, apparently hoping I’d give up and leave them alone. They also repeatedly got my name wrong. Not very professional. 3. Learn to count. I understand that crickets aren’t individually counted, but when I order a supply that should last a month, and only get three days worth, you’ve got a quality control issue.

Ordered a cane toad came as planned and healthy female. I’d order again.

DOA blackworms. $106 of blackworms dead on arrival, packaged terribly in a single bag with little water, causing them all to suffocate. The weather in my area was below 90 as per their policy, but they blamed the weather and told me I could have a "discounted replacement". Not wasting any more of my money, thanks.

Rip-off artist just take your money and deliver nothing.

I ordered a Central Am. Boa Constrictor. I ordered it Friday and had to wait until Monday to have it shipped. It arrived ON time exactly by Fedex Today (Tuesday morning 7/21). My snake came in a perishable box, undamaged. I did record myself opening it in case maybe temperature drop during shipping and my animal would be deceased. My snake was BEAUTIFUL! She was in the same containers with plenty of air venting that you would get similarly at a local pet store, with some bedding and some newspaper. She hasn’t eaten yet, but she’s active. I put her in her enclosure and she’s doing great. For a hatchling she is also a decent Size! I recommend these brands. *I AM NOT A BACK WATER EMPLOYEE*.
