We had reserved a vehicle in Riga (Latvia) on the BUDGET France website. We paid in advance the €689 corresponding to the total rental amount. When taking possession of the vehicle, the BUDGET employee at Riga airport made us sign a document electronically on a tablet that we could not even read. It was only when we returned home that we saw that it was mentioned "Amount due: €377". We subsequently learned that this was an optional additional insurance offered by the employee and that we had very clearly refused at the BUDGET counter in Riga. We are seeking reimbursement of the €377 but BUDGET France does not want to hear anything. We are deeply shocked by the attitudes of this company which displays on the first page of its site "Our worry-free promise" then "A secure adventure with BUDGET". Having collected several testimonials similar to ours, some advice to travelers is in order: avoid using the BUDGET company due to their lack of honesty and respect for the customer. Please note, they are also an AVIS agency (same group as BUDGET). And above all, avoid the BUDGET SIA IDEAL SERVICES agency at Riga airport.

Je précise que cet opérateur a été d'un professionnalisme et d'une compassion remarquable et ma réserve se véhicule pour le Dimanche 21 à 10 h 00 Le dimanche a 10 h mon bof frère et moi nous rendons a votre succursale de l’aéroport de Roissy récupérer ce véhicule, mon bof frère me laisse et rentre a Montesson organiser notre départ. Sur place une jeune et adorable jeune femme enregistre les formalités de location et m'annonce que le véhicule se trouve encore au garage et que le retard ne durera pas plus de 20 minutes je l'informe de l'urgence et de la situation et je lui demande si j'ai le temps de boire un café en attendant se que je fais, 20 minutes après me voila de retour je retourne la voir et elle me demande un peut de patience cela ne va plus tarder et je m'assoie, a 10 h 40 le temps commence a compter et ma famille ne cesse de me joindre pour partir je me levé retourne voir cette jeune femme et je la sans désemparé et me redemande 10 minute de plus en m’annonçant une remise de 60 euros pour le quel je la remercie mais lui dit ne pas vouloir de remise mais le véhicules, et me rassoie naturellement. Comment avons nous pue arriver a une situation aussi dure et moralement dramatique Comment tel que me la annoncé un de vos opérateur téléphonique qui ma donne cette adresse mail se véhiculer réserve mercredi était t'il encore au garage le dimanche matin ? Betrogen um 500€ Kaution in der Hoffnung man merkt es nicht! Nie wieder!!! Also wo soll ich anfangen… Völlig verdrecktes Auto bekommen, was enorm viele Schäden hatte. Unfreundlicher empfang am Flughafen wo ich mit meiner EC Karte 500€ Kaution bezahlt habe. Jetzt kommt der Knaller: Nach Knapp 70 Anrufen , 50 emails und hin und her geärgere mit dem unterirdischen Kunden Service von Avis habe ich nach knapp 36 Tagen nach Rückgabe Meike Kaution erhalten. Kurz nach der Rückgabe erhielt ich eine Email mit einer Rechung über „ verschiedene Kosten 500€“ obwohl der Wagen vollgetankt und ohne neue Schäden (bestätigt von avis vor Ort) bekommen. Und dann noch dir Rechnung auf spanisch. Nach anfrage was das sein soll, hieß es „ wir haben ein fehler im system und konnten das geld nicht auf die Benutzte Kreditkarte überweisen, wir brauchen eine IBAN und ein Schriftstück, welches bestätigt das es sich hierbei um ihr konto hadelt“. Ich hatte nichtmal mit Kreditkarte bezahlt sondern mit meiner EC Karte die Kaution hinterlegt. Nach langem hind und her mit Check24 hieß es, Kaution wurde am 13.10. überwiesen. Zwei wochen später war das geld immer noch nicht da und seitens check24 wollte sich keiner kümmern. Ich kontaktierte AVIS direkt und nach 2 Wochen hieß es erneut „geld wurde überwiesen“. Naja long story short geld immer noch nicht da! Und das schlimmste ist das der Kunden Support mich auch noch dafür verantwortlich machen wollte, weil ich ja so ungeduldig bin!! Bis Frau Haag sich der Sache annahm. Danke an dieser stelle nochmal, ohne sie hätte ich einen Nervenzusammenbruch gehabt. Sie hat sich dan Final gekümmert

Nicht nur wurde die Kaution aufgrund eines angeblichen Schadens einbehalten, sondern zudem wurde ein Extra-Tag berechnet, weil der Wagen angeblich erst abends um 20 Uhr abgegeben wurde – wir haben ihn wie verabredet um 13 Uhr abgegeben, mit einem Nicken wurde die Abgabe von dem Mitarbeiter quittiert, am Rezeptionstresen war ohnehin niemand. Was zwischen 13 und 20 Uhr passiert ist, wer weiß. Mein Rückflug ging übrigens bereits um 15.30 Uhr... Ein Schelm, wer Böses dabei denkt. Die andere Frechheit: Kurz vor Abgabe wollten wir tanken, allerdings waren die Zapfsäulen defekt, sodass wir auf den Tankservice zurückgekommen sind. Der sollte laut Aussage bei Abholung etwa gleich viel kosten wie eine eigene Betankung. Im Nachhinein wurde dann aber doch deutlich mehr von der Karte abgebucht. Laut Rechnung wurde nämlich mehr in das Auto getankt, als überhaupt reinpasst. Das muss man sich mal auf der Zunge zergehen lassen. Reinster Betrugsladen, nie wieder! Avus hat für drei Tage (gebucht über billiger-mietwagen für 119 Euro) insgesamt 608 Euro auf der Rechnung verbucht – das muss man sich mal vorstellen. Billiger-mietwagen waren übrigens gar keine Hilfe. Von dort ging meine Beschwerde nach 6 Wochen an Carhiremarket, über die billiger-mietwagen anscheinend wiederum gebucht hat. Die haben mir in anderthalb Monaten nicht auf eine meiner drei E-Mail geantwortet, telefonisch könne man eh nichts machen. Aktueller Status ist, dass sich Carhiremarket auf die Rechnung von Avus bezieht, nach der der Mietwagen ja zu spät abgegeben wurde – es ist die reinste Shitshow. Unterm Strich werde ich das nächste Mal wohl einfach über den ADAC buchen. Kein Bock, mich abziehen zu lassen.

I recently had a highly frustrating experience with the Avis Budget Group Kings Cross branch that compelled me to share my dissatisfaction. I had reserved a car for an important event but was shockingly denied rental due to a past check involving my brother licence points, even though it cleared years ago the system picked it up, it doesn't reflect on his DLVA record. I was confused to why I was being punished for this. The manager's unhelpful attitude poor and the basis to his explanation was flawed he claimed that because me and my brother share the same address and surname the system is assuming we the same. What a rubbish system, but wait!! I have another brother who rented recently from the Heathrow branch with no issues he has the same address and obviously the same surname as me. The manager said he had "bypassed security" Really!!! to me they just had common sense. What added to the disappointment was the lack of a real-time solution. The only option provided was an email address, and the automated response suggested an exasperating 8-10 day resolution time. This lack of urgency and customer care was unacceptable, especially given the urgency of my situation. This experience has left me with a bitter taste, and I'm compelled to share my story to caution others. I won't be booking with Avis Budget Group again, and I strongly advise against using their Kings Cross branch. The inconsistent policies, unhelpful management, and absence of timely support make for an experience that falls far below the standard expected from a reputable car rental service. Lastly, I wish they told me this from the beginning so I wouldn't have wasted my time and a lot of money booking an Uber to get there during school run traffic.

I had an extremely negative experience with Avis during my recent car rental. We were wrongly charged for additional services we didn't request, which were added to the contract by the desk operator without our consent. Initially, we had to wait at the desk because the operator wasn't present, causing a significant delay. Additionally, we were given an oversized car, forcing us to request a vehicle exchange. Checking Google Maps reviews of the car rental office, it seems these practices are common, which is unacceptable. I request a refund for the wrongfully charged amount. I had hoped for better service from a reputable company like Avis. Otherwise, I'll have to consider alternatives and strongly discourage others from using this location.

Berechnung einer so genannten Service-Gebühr von 29€ für die angeblich per Gesetz verpflichtende Herausgabe von Daten an Dritte im Rahmen von Radarkontrollen. Zwei Abbuchungen über diese Summe von meinem Konto ohne mein Einverständnis! Seltsamerweise geriet ich innerhalb von 2 Tagen gleich zweimal und beide Male unbemerkt in Kontrollen auf Nebenstrecken. Die Geschwindigkeitsübertretung war in beiden Fällen minimal und die von AVIS abgebuchte Gebühr höher als die Forderungen der Kommunen. Zufall oder organisierte Abzocke? Jedenfalls nie wieder AVIS Budget!

This company and there partner MAGGIORE is deceiving customers. The ordered car was not there, we had to wait 2 hours until they found a replacement. When returning the car, I recorded the condition of the car without damage. They also wrote off additional money for repairs. My emails with photos were not answered for 3 months. Through an intermediary they sent a photo with damage taken a day after returning the car and wrote that I could not prove that the car was returned without damage, although the photo was sent to them 3 times.
