Audi Q4 defective, made worse by Audi’s subpar customer service
I wanted to love my Audi Q4 e-tron, but my experience has been incredibly disappointing. Over the course of my lease, the car has had repeated issues requiring service visits (far more than I would expect for a luxury vehicle at this price point). I’m talking major issues like not being able to charge the car at all, or large pieces falling off from the bottom of the car because they weren’t properly assembled in the factory. At a certain point, it stopped feeling like normal ownership and started feeling like I was constantly troubleshooting a brand-new car. Hanging out at the dealership waiting for service has become a regular pastime. What has been even more frustrating, however, has been Audi’s customer service. The dealerships never have loaner cars and the service reps are combative instead of accommodating. After documenting the extensive issues and being instructed to submit paperwork to be considered for an early lease termination/release, I jumped through countless hoops to provide everything requested. I was explicitly told I would receive a response within 60 days. That deadline came and went. No response. No update. No follow-up. Despite promises, Audi has essentially gone radio silent. I call their help line and get put on hold for 30+ minutes only to be told by a customer service rep that they have no answers. Premium brands charge premium prices because customers expect premium products and service. Problems can happen with any vehicle — what matters is how a company handles them. Unfortunately, in my experience, Audi has failed on both fronts.
