They sell all your information and spam you with fake news and this is the government $9.95 free phone.
Worthless company. They make changes to your phone without your permission. And don't count on it ever saving your life there most zero signal in colorado.

Stop before you get this company look…
Stop before you get this company look else where. These people have a government contact to provide wireless service the date your given them and google use then they charge 5.00 a gb period this is criminal for low income services. The phone can not handle the data processing so it's so slow it is pointless. I do understand it is a free phone and service. If you just call and text that all you need. Want to go on line forget it.

Reapply
I have been on lifeline for a few years and still qualify assurance said that I had to reapply. I reapplied to assurance. I called the food stamps line in TX they said I still qualify. Assurance customer service gives no information other than buy minutes. It's been since Sept 29th,2020..I call to check status of the application all they say is wait and buy minutes. Some of the people I talk to doesn't speak clearly . Don't know what else to do

Very Poor service
they have taken away all my data and say it's my fault, but it's NOT its because the phone needs to be updated, and updating it means you have to go on wi-fi to update these required things for your free everything phone. the phone breaks almost every 2 weeks, then they say you have to send pictures of the return envelop showing the RMA number and the Tracking number before anything can be done, or you get people who can't speak English very well, then they start yelling at you for some reason or another then hang up on you. So here I sit with a phone that has no data because of assurance wireless, I've lost my minutes from being on hold with them for up to 30 minutes. I'm at my wit's end, I need my phone to keep in touch with my hospice care team, now I can't even do that. Someone, please HELP!!!!!

This service is JOKE
This service is JOKE! People on disability need this service and its a TOTAL joke. I have a family member that needs this service for home helath care calls. Assurance wireless cancelled service for NO apparent reason. When i logged in to account (which is another hurdle) there is some unknow address associated with the number. Now i cant even add minutes AND they WILL NOT change the incorrect address. NOW MY FAMILY MEMBER CANNOT CALL HOME HEALTH CARE OR FAMILY!!!!! Someone needs to do something about this . So many people depend on this service for loved ones.

Tower down for weeks I've been trying to make a call and it tells me to put a credit or debit card number in to make a call by sprint. Customer service is rude. They are getting paid for no service
I've been without service for weeks and they keep saying the towers are down. When I try to make a call it want a credit or a debit card number to make a call through sprint. I wonder am I the only one having no service but assurance wireless is getting paid from the government but I can't make a call. God forbid if there's an emergency. Towers been down for weeks according to them. Anyone else going through this?

Worst phone service you can ever get…
Worst phone service you can ever get anywhere. The phone is trash from day one and requires a monthly factory reset to fix and it doesn't matter if you add apps or change a single thing from how the reset puts the phone to, it gets an error that constantly flashes "acore has stopped". If you try to use the web browser on the phone, it takes you to spam pages by itself from the first day I opened the phone and turned it on.
The phone also will download apps by itself if you connect to wifi or mobile data. I understand most of us getting phones from this have no better options right now, but giving us a totally unusable phone with it taking us to spam sites they want us to go to or downloading apps I never asked for off my very limited data doesn't help us at all.
I tried to get my service transferred to my old phone that no longer has service, but Assurance Wireless use Sprint which is CDMA and my old phone takes GSM, so that isn't an option, at least in that situation I'd have a working, reliable phone with service, but they buy phones from ANS, which I feel are quite criminal, giving such shady, junk phones.
Find another option for your phone needs if you're able to, you won't regret skipping past assurance wireless.

So glad to be rid of them
So glad to be rid of them! I had them for several years because I couldn't find anything else I could afford. I went through many different phone resets, and many different phones. I had the same problem always with Assurance Wireless. Often people would call me and my phone would not ring. Missed important calls from doctors etc. When I called out it often took four tries to get it to ring out. I went through this with all three companies that Assurance has been associated during those years and assurance never changed. Customer service is just awful. I was paying an extra $10 a month, make that almost 12, with taxes Etc to get unlimited minutes so I wouldn't go over. If you go over you'll be charged a lot, I can't promote a company, I believe, so I'll just tell you one of these big names now has a new cheap service if you don't get much Intranet. Luckily I still had my old good phone to use with the new service. Assurance Wireless couldn't be used on my old good phone. So I switched to that, and I use Wi-Fi at home, and I am loving it! I have not missed a call, people are telling me I sound clearer. This is a new service, so I was really stuck with Assurance for several years. I was at the point though, where I would have spent more money than I could afford just to be able to make a phone call or get a phone call.
