ORDER #AG11743
This company is unorganized and dishonest, and I would urge anyone looking to buy a custom build from them to look elsewhere.
My scheduled phone call with one of their build specialists, Brandon Walker, was late and as it turns out non-constructive. I asked Brandon if there were two things possible for my build. 1 was to have the company NOT install the LED lights in the case and just send the box with it, which he tried assuring me they would do (spoiler alert, they didn't listen to my request) 2. Was my request for the case to be black - I had to automatically change cases immediately after I placed my order, but was not given an option to choose the color, which I discussed with Brandon and he assured me it would be no problem to get the case in black. 4+ weeks after that phone call I can see on my order status that the new motherboard and RAM have finally been updated, but not the case color, so I reach out and get in contact with Mohammed and Jeff in which they tell me that they are sorry and it would take an additional 2 weeks to get the black case sent and have the pc undergo stress testing again, which I agree to. At this point I was already very dissatisfied with the company as I was told I would receive their 2 week rush build option, when the entirety of my order ended up taking almost 7 weeks. Lo and behold when my PC arrives its in a white case, leaving me confused as to why they would tell me my PC got fitted with the new black case and failed stress testing the second time around, and was further delayed.
Truly unacceptable for how much money is being spent on a custom build. Lesson learned that next time I will just suck it up and take the time to build it myself instead of leaving it in the hands of a bad company like this.

Hi Anil, I am sorry for the errors on our end. We agree this is not acceptable. I am going to go ahead and process a $200 credit so that you can have your case changed to black and the RGB lights removed without having to pay for it. After all, this is how your PC should have arrived. On top of that, we will add $200 to your account for having to wait on your PC for as long as you did. We hope this shows our dedication to making sure we make things right, even when we make mistakes.

My original review would have been 3.5 stars, until the PC refused to turn on anymore!
1/25/24: Finally got my PC back from being repaired by a 3rd party. I was informed that my Apex Gaming PC builder plugged in an 8-pin PCI-e cable to my power supply so that it looped back into the power supply which destroyed the functionality of the PC. I have not heard back to see if Apex will help me at all due to their failure to build a properly functioning PC.
I opened Planet Zoo, and the PC suddenly shut off with the ram still lit up, and an error red triangle with an exclamation point in the center displayed on the cooler's LCD screen. The PC is getting power, but the fans and graphics card do not turn on anymore. I have tried turning off the power supply, and replugging in the PC. Nothing. Other folks online have mentioned it being an issue with the particular motherboard or possibly the power supply.
I have had crashes in empty maps on Planet Zoo with fatal graphics drivers errors with this PC that is indeed overkill for the game, it surely cannot handle it. I've had crashed in Ark Survival Ascended, an unoptimized game, but have been crashing more frequently than my old PC which is at least 5 years old at this point and had less than the recommended specs to run the game.
I need this PC for my college courses, my business, and my job. It's BRAND NEW, and I've paid nearly 5,000 to have it stop working in a mere FEW WEEKS.
-Other Issues-
- I received new speakers as a gift for Christmas which do not work when plugged into the new PC but worked great on my old one. They worked okay with the new PC's bluetooth but any interference made the sound quality distorted and terrible. I even tested bluetooth headphones. With the PC sitting on my desk and me practically sitting on top of the PC in terms of distance, the bluetooth would still cut in and out.
- I haven't been able to change the RGB lighting on the side of the graphics card. I like the default color it is set to, but it is incredibly concerning for the amount I paid that the light is not working as intended.
-The back fan shakes and wiggles. Not that big of a deal, but take into context with it being an expensive pre-built and the company markets themselves as premium, high-quality builders who care about the aesthetics of the PC.
Note: It took longer to receive my PC than expected - (and I expected it would take several months) Black Friday passed and they hadn't even started my PC build yet. Apparently it was their "biggest sale yet." Apex refused to offer any assistance for the wait.
Customer Service in a nutshell: Friendly and seemingly knowledgable, but don't get back to you unless you reach out first.
EVERY TIME I contacted support, they would say a different part has been delayed. I have no idea who to even trust from Apex. Originally it was my SSD and I believe it was the motherboard that was delayed but was assured that my PC was "almost done." How could the build be almost done when the motherboard is one of the most important in the building process? (You can't wire stuff together or seat the RAM, graphics card, etc.) Then I contacted again after months of waiting only to be told that the PC HAD NOT EVEN BEEN STARTED and was told that the case was actually delayed and not the other parts. I responded requesting to switch out the case if it would speed up the process. Then a representative switched out the case without even contacting me to tell me the changes prior to making them. I assumed I would get some conversation and input in this change but apparently not. I had to call again to get this all sorted out.
-Other notes-
-Scheduled a phone call with one of the specialists to ensure my custom PC would be perfect for me.
-The call was right on time, the specialist was incredibly friendly, seemed knowledgeable, and just a great person to talk to. He would look over the parts list, ensure everything is compatible and if there were any concerns he'd get back to me.
-There were concerns about cooling the PC and a better cooler was recommended to me. I was charged $500 for a corsair liquid cooler. The most expensive one I can find online is $250, so I have no idea what the difference is and I'm sincerely hoping I wasn't charged $250 for labor just on a cooler after already buying the PC.
- I contacted this specialist again about a military discount who replied that he'd get back to me "tomorrow" with a response... never heard from him again.
- Picking out the PC parts on the Apex Gaming website was a breeze! If some parts weren't compatible, a notification would pop up.
-The order status feature really SUCKS. It seemed that my computer was going through all the stages smoothly. Then, it was stuck on the "finishing build" page for weeks weeks until the website suddenly updates to say that my PC is in the queue to be built, with a countdown timer of twenty days. Why would it say my PC is being finished if it was never started?!

Hi Amber, all in all, we agree that your experience with Apex Gaming PCs was more than lack luster. We have been looking into all of your points and are actively making changes to certain policies we have to ensure that these issues do not occur again.
I do see here that we made sure to cover the cost of the replacement PSU you had to have installed at a value of $180 and also processed an additional $380 refund to you, as a measure of our appreciation for your feedback and your patience. We hope that this helps make things right as our goal is to make sure that even when we make mistakes, we make it right for our customers!

Took your money then ignores you
My order is #AG114718. I ordered it April 28th and got it delivered August 2nd (9 weeks despite them saying expected is 4-6 weeks). Emailed them and they said they were waiting for parts. Okay I can let that slide.
Delivery went fine. PC arrived but it doesn't boot up. I emailed them and I get 1 email back every day, all with generic instructions. Now 2 weeks after the delivery date, I'm $1.5k short, has an unusable PC, emails not being responded to and phone calls not being picked up (something wrong with their phone number). If you value your time just buy a PC elsewhere.

Don’t buy from apex
Well it’s been weird I had order a gaming pc on 6/12 (order #AG115331) and first got an email that I made an order with a wrong sized motherboard for the case(I didn’t make any changes to the pc on the store) so they offered to switch it for free nice right.
Then a little while later offered to upgrade my parts for a discounted price and I said yes then on 6/15 I got a email to say the build was going to processed soon awesome.
6/18 it was scheduled for production 6/20 I was emailed ETA 6 weeks for my pc.
I asked if I could pay for a 2 week rush build they said yes I paid them on 6/22.
6/25 the build has actually started should only take a few days to finish right awesome.
I call 7/11 I email them for an ETA as I see the computer hasn’t finished building yet. They respond that they are missing the whole case(the one they offered to switch me to) they offer a free exchange to speed the process along.
7/20 build still not finished I call their customer support who were very friendly and helpful. They say my graphics is missing now(The one they offered to switch me to) and this time I just have to wait until they get a new one
8/7 I call again build still jot finished. This time THE POWER SUPPLY WAS MISSING TF. Once again customers support is amazing and kind. They offer to switch me to a different one no difference in price I guess. I say yes the guy says they will be able to get to quality control and ship it out the next day I think awesome amazing I wanna play Baldurs gate 3.
8/10 quality control still not finished or shipped I call 3 times that day during their working hours every time on hold for 12-24 minutes and wasn’t able to talk to anyone that day at all. 8/12 quality control not finished.(I know this thanks to their status portal)
If you buy from them just be ready that’s all.

Hi Jack, first and foremost I am really sorry about the experience you had with us. I went ahead an issued your account a $200 credit for any upgrades you want in the future as a token of our appreciation for your incredible patience. We are also looking into the email you got about your case and motherboard, as that would have occurred in error. On top of all of that we are working as we speak to lower lead times as fast as possible!

Uncommunicative, tiring process
Earlier this year my wife and I were looking to purchase new gaming PC’s, and after doing research on a few companies we went with Apex based off of their offering of a custom loop option as well as the specific cases we wanted. We placed our orders in the first week of March (hers was a normal build stated to take about 2-6 weeks, mine was a custom loop stated to take on average 8-12 weeks, with some delays due to supply chain issues).
My PC arrived two days ago, 7/19, and I immediately noticed it was not the case I had ordered, it was not the ram I had ordered, the gpu was mounted vertically, but as I had waited about 19 weeks for the PC to arrive I was willing to accept the changes made and be done with the whole process. However when I went to fill the custom loop reservoir a tube popped out of the fitting and fluid shot all over my desk.
After contacting support I was told that they would pay for shipping to have me send it back to be repaired and in my frustration I requested that I just send it back and got a refund as I am over the entire situation and do not feel like waiting any longer for them to fix a pc that has already taken this long to arrive.
My wife has still not received her PC, it is stated to arrive Monday the 24th, meaning hers has taken almost 3 times the stated lead time, and I don’t know if she would be receiving it now if we hadn’t contacted support throughout the process, where it was finally shipped after they asked her if she was okay changing some of the parts inside.
When you order you are sent an email stating their team will be in contact with you in case any changes need to be made in regards to parts, this never happened without us reaching out first to ask the status, as their order portal was constantly incorrect.
I have not heard anything beyond the support person over the phone ask me to send in images so their supervisor could contact the refund team. This was early Wednesday, I see their phone support is closed Friday during the summer and assume I have to wait until next week to even get a pre-paid shipping label to send everything back, assuming they will even offer me the option of a refund.
This has absolutely been an unacceptable process that has taken entirely too long.

Scam Site
Utterly disgusted that ORDER #AG113656
after having delays on building my pc now they have created a label for shipping and today marks 2 weeks that it has not shipped only created a label.......
I don't even think ill ever get my pc and just got scammed out of thousands of dollars this is so crazy
Update: joke of a reply not saying why its taking 2 weeks to ship after printing shipping label….
Response from Apex Gaming PCsApr 25, 2023
Hi Brandan, we have already replied to your other review. We understand you have not enjoyed your experience working with us, and for that we do apologize. We are working as fast as possible to ship all orders and we apologize for being 2 weeks delayed on your PC.
Your PC did not ship due to an outstanding balance on your order. We typically do not like to share this information publically due to the personal nature of said items. From what I can see the balance was resolved in regards to your order upgrades, and your PC was released on Friday of last week.
All of this information was provided to you via email in which we noted that there was a balance that had been resolved which would mean your PC is now cleared to ship. The exact email stated:
"There was a bug with our order recommendations at the time that you approved your recommendations. It created two separate orders for your recommendations so it was showing as unpaid even though you had completed payment. Our software team was able to fix the issue and our shipping team has been permitted to ship your order. Again, we apologize for the delay, but now everything with your order has been fixed and your PC can be shipped."
It is now just awaiting a UPS pickup and will be on its way.
As we stated in our last reply we do understand that your system is late, and we do apologize for that. Apex Gaming PCs is commited to lowering our lead times and we are doing everything we can to get PCs out the door as past as they are being ordered.
If you have any questions our Support Team has ansewered all of your emails well within 24 hours and you can contact them via [email protected]

My 12 year old saved up his money and…
My 12 year old saved up his money and ordered a computer from Apex. It took four months to show up. When I got here it did not work because it had a bad graphics card. They had us send the computer back and we cannot get them to get us a refund. Unbelievable poor customer service they are just giving us the runaround saying they’re trying to go after UPS or something like that for not handling packages properly and potentially bumping a port. The computer showed up in a box that did not have any damage. Not sure if they are having financial trouble but do not for whatever reason buy a computer from them. Total rip off. No matter what number you call for support you get the same guy name to Kearbey. He tell you that he feels bad that he can’t help us but they just went through some kind of audit. We are going to protest the charges on our credit card. We have all of the records.
Response from Apex Gaming PCsApr 25, 2023
Edit - Dear Customer, we appreciate your patience while we awaited your PCs return back to us. We can not provide refunds until the PC is actual back at our warehouse. You have been refunded since the PC was returned.
Dear Customer, we apologize for the poor experience you have had. Unfortunately we were unable to locate an order using the name you provided, and hence are unable to validate this review. Please provide more information so we can more accurately address the issues.
However, if your PC was returned to us, and you are requesting a refund, there is not reason we would be unable to process a refund once the PC was received back, and the issues were verified.
If your PCs graphics card arrived artifacting, and left our facility functioning, it may have been determined that the GPU was damaged during shipping, as GPUs very rarely stop working randomly, and often do have issues in transit. If a UPS claim has been opened a refund will be provided as soon as the claim is submitted.
We look forward to getting more informatiom about your order to better assist you.

Order delayed 4 months
Placed an order on New Years. Over 4 months later, and I still haven't received my order. Multiple emails to the Apex Support team have been left with empty promises, and no compensation for the extreme delays. Reading here that there are people who placed orders after me that have gotten their orders makes this even more frustrating.
Response from Apex Gaming PCsFeb 8, 2024
Hi Blake, sorry it has taken us so long to get back to you here. We went ahead and issued your account a $300 credit to compensate you for the delays you experienced. We are actively working to lower our lead times and hope that in the future this will not be an issue for any of our customers.
