Sneaky Sales Tactics and a Lousy Machine - Don't buy!
TLDR: Apex was not forthright and honest in selling me this computer. I feel cheated and unhappy with what I got.
I ordered the basic Bronze mchine from the Apex Gaming PCs website. They asked what kind of games I'd be playing (nothing too serious or graphically demanding), and I had a conversation with an "Engineer" about it. I got an email of "recommendations" for additional hardware they wanted me to purchase, which would have been an extra $542 on my $660 computer. The recommendations had someone else's name in them, so this definitely looked like a sloppy cut'n'paste job just to try to upsell me on some stuff. I declined all of this without even really reading it, because this seemed so cheap & dishonest.
Apex's website says everything ships within 2 weeks. It took a month (to the day) for them to ship my PC. Then they charged me $150 for shipping.
What I got looks nothing like the Bronze machine on the website. (It does say in tiny print that the product shown has extra stuff and what you buy might not be the same.. tiny print.) The machine I got has no BlueTooth capability -- apparently that's hidden in the "Customize" menu under the WiFi drop-down (for some reason). I didn't know anybody made a computer, phone, tablet, or anything similar without BlueTooth any more.
The graphics card they gave me wouldn't run the games I named. I ended up pulling the graphics card out of my old 4-year-old machine (that I was replacing with this), and now I get better performance from that. If you asked me what I was running, and I told you, and your card wouldn't even run it, WHY did you sell it to me? Your "Recommendation" (which was addressed to some other dude's name) probably should've said, "There's no way you can run XYZ with this card."
A search later revealed that this is considered a VERY low-end card and doesn't run most games. Why does Apex *GAMING* PCs sell this to people? Yes I could've searched for it before I made the purchase, and I should have -- but I'm not an expert on graphics cards, and I trusted them.
I got 3 emails asking me if I was happy with my purchase or if there was anything they could do to help. I replied all 3 times, but they never answered me.
Apex has a NO REFUNDS policy if it's more than 1-2 days after you make the order online -- not even while they're spending a month "building" the computer, or after you receive it. This should've been a warning sign -- once you actually get the product, you're out of luck if it stinks.'
Overall, I feel I was cheated and badly overpaid for this. I could've gotten a better machine off Amazon for 60% of the price, or probably something even better from a local shop. I strongly recommend you don't buy from Apex Gaming PCs.

Hi Tim,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We truly appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns and ensure your PC meets—and hopefully exceeds—your expectations. Without feedback like your's Apex can not improve.
First, we apologize for any confusion caused by the one error in your recommendations. Beyond that mix-up, your suggestions were specifically tailored to your needs and were certainly not copied and pasted.
We also acknowledge that Bluetooth is not standard on some models, and we’re making updates to our product customization text to ensure it’s clearly highlighted, along with the text shown under all products, noting that customization of the PC will affect its appearance.
With regard to shipping, both your receipt and our checkout page indicate a 3–4 week timeline, and we met that window for your order (placed on January 30 and shipped on February 25). You can find this information in your order confirmation email and online receipt.
Regarding your graphics card, we have provided evidence that it should run the game you wish to play—though this detail was not communicated to one of our System Engineers. As discussed, we will expedite your system through our RMA Team to confirm there isn’t any underlying hardware issue affecting performance.
We have also checked our records and responded to all your emails promptly, except for one reply to our feedback request. If you did not receive our responses, we would be happy to resend them or address any additional questions.
Lastly, while we do not allow cancellations after a specific waiting period, our policy does permit returns if the product does not meet your expectations, and in most cases, you are refunded 100% of the amount paid. The full details are outlined in our returns and cancellations policy on our website.
We truly value your feedback and hope that we are able to change your one-star feelings toward Apex into five-star feelings. Thank you again for your time, and we look forward to continuing to support you in getting the most out of your new PC.

READ THE REVIEWS!!!
READ THE REVIEWS!!!! This company is a complete waste of anyone's time and money. they are a scam facility that doesn't do what they say. They don't have most of the components required to build the PC's they sell. They will then send you a message on day 3 letting you know that the parts are on their way. by then you cannot cancel as they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. You then have to pay thier 20% restocking fee. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!

Hi Airon,
First and foremost, I sincerely apologize for the experience you had with us. At Apex, our top priority is ensuring that every customer has a smooth and satisfying experience, and it’s clear that we fell short in your case.
We offer a wide variety of parts—over 800—and while we strive to keep everything in stock, there are times when certain components are in transit or need to be sourced after an order is placed. In most cases, this does not cause delays, as we work quickly to secure the necessary parts.
Regarding lead times, we make every effort to be transparent. At the time of your purchase, our stated build time for custom PCs was 12-13 business days. I can see that your PC was prepared for shipment on the 14th business day. However, after you initiated a chargeback with your credit card company, the shipment was halted.
I truly regret that your experience led to such frustration. We will review how we communicate lead times and stock availability to ensure customers have the clearest expectations possible. While not every part is immediately in stock at the time of order, we work hard to meet our advertised shipping timeframe.
Finally, regarding our 24-hour cancellation window—this policy exists because every PC we build is fully customized. Once production begins, canceling an order results in significant resource loss, as we must dismantle and repurpose components. This is why we encourage customers to finalize decisions within that timeframe. We also share this cancellation window three times before an order is placed to ensure it is well known before placing the order.
Again, I apologize for any frustration caused and appreciate your feedback.

Stop trying to get a positive response
If you want to pay more than what the product is worth this is most certainly the place to shop there are much better options available I wish I had gone to the store and purchased would have gotten a better price directly from the shelf ….after 6mths you want more info don’t know what to say to get you a positive response my issue is the insane up charge your company provides I specifically asked for a basic black case for my unit but yet you send a white which definitely cost more I’ve done the research as to what was needed made the pc and found that this pc could have been built for less than 1500 but yet it cost me more than 40 % markup after affirm total interest payments at least 60%
I never wanted to rate my experience I take my loss and move forward n you’ve consistently reach out trying to get the response you so desire
As for my financing I’m fine with that my issue is with apex yes the parts were new doesn’t give you the right to charge double the value
Yes I saw the list the build took a long time and I just wanted my unit and was willing to take it although I was not happy but yet you asked for a rating repeatedly over and over again I’m willing to leave well enough alone and you should do the same
I’ve excepted the fact that this was my first time shopping with apex and it will be my last I will not be giving any positive reviews to anyone I know personally hopefully you’ll understand that this should and will be are last time communicating
Thanks Apex

We are sorry to hear that your experience with us has soured you enough to change your review, and we want to take some time to address this. We took a look back at our communications in case we had any learning or growth opportunities, and we were unable to find your request for a different case. You did reach out to us on 10/20/2024, requesting a parts list. We sent you the complete parts list, including the white case, and asked you to let us know if anything in that list was not what you were expecting. We did not receive a response to that email, and so we continued the build as agreed with upgrades. Swapping your case is still something we can do very easily and would have happily worked with you on, if we were aware that was your need at the time. We are still happy to work with you on getting a case that suits your needs better, please feel free to give us a call at 215-565-1069 or email our support line at [email protected].
The parts put into your PC were brand new at the time, and our costs also include the labor to build your PC for you, do the full setup with testing, and offer lifetime tech support. While in some cases, it is true that sourcing parts themselves may be a little cheaper, you are investing in a team that works hard to build and support these PCs every day.
Also, any interest rate associated with your financing is due to the agreement you made with the financer. This rate would have been detailed in your loan agreement and is unfortunately outside of our control.

Stay away
I have been going back and forth with Apex for almost 5 months at this point regarding an issue with my PC. Sent my PC in because of performance issues, a month later they tell me the glass case for the PC was shattered. Had UPS refund the shipping and the cost of a new case. It took until early November (from August) for the PC to get back to me. Hook it up and.... Having performance issues. Spent two hours on the phone and my GPU wasn't working. Sent it back to Apex and it suffered physical damage at some point. Mind you, i hadn't touched the PC in three months, it was in Apex' hands. Apex said my extended warranty didn't cover it, the manufacturer warranty wouldn't cover it, and UPS wouldn't because no obvious damage happened to the package. Apex tells me this is going to have to come out of my pocket. Unacceptable, this was a 4090, cost me $2300. After talking repeatedly with customer service they said they decided to replace it at "our cost". Here it is, almost a month from that email, and I've heard nothing. I have a partial PC that i bought for $6300 with a different case and no graphics card.

Hi Christopher, thank you for taking the time to leave this review. As you know, this is not how Apex handles our RMAs and we are actively working with you to resolve your RMA issue, but wanted to make sure we got a chance to reply to your review. Once UPS notifies us about the status of the claim we have processing for you, we will update a reply with additional information, and of course update you as well.

They cancel and charge a fee
They sent us a notice that they were cancelling our order unless we gave them more banking information. We assumed they were a fraud and deleted the e-mail. They then billed us the full price for the computer. After a number of attempts to reach them, they refunded most of the money, but held back close to 20%. After numerous attempts to contact them to ask why they said they had a restocking fee. They cancelled the order and refused to return our money. They are criminals in my mind.
Response from Apex Gaming PCsFeb 5, 2025
Hi Sean,
We sincerely regret the frustration you’ve experienced, but we want to clarify that this is not our standard operating procedure. We do not cancel orders and charge restocking fees without clear communication and valid reasoning.
We attempted to reach out to you via Trustpilot to request your order details so we could investigate and resolve this issue, but we did not receive a response. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can review your case thoroughly and work toward a resolution.
We take customer satisfaction seriously, and we want to ensure that this matter is handled fairly. You can reach us directly at [email protected] or call (215)-565-1069.
