Bought a farm a few years ago. It had a leased Amerigas tank. About three years ago Amerigas began to balk,at tank refills and a year,ago stopped entirely, in spite of numerous requests to their Customer Service. Finally in Dec. 2022 I requested a termination of service (which they were not providing anyway), disconnection and removal of tank. Which they refused to do, preventing my getting delivery of any more propane. Early 2023,Amerigas sold their local operations to a small competitor and I could not be more pleased. Piedmont Propane sent a truck the very next day, disconnected the old Amerigas tank,and removed it, provided a new tank,and filled it. Amerigas responded by billing me for a service they did not provide. Their only response to repeated phone and email inquiries was to send my account to a collection agency. Do not do business with Amerigas. They are the worst!

I called to ask about becoming a customer. I told them that I'm a low volume user and that I the only propane appliance I have is a kitchen stove. I asked about buying a tank from them so there would be no issues about me having their tank and not buying much gas. I was told they don't sell tanks and they wouldn't place a tank for just a stove. I was told....in so many words....Amerigas does not want low volume customers.

This company is dishonest and more expensive than other companies. I was enrolled in the Amerilock program and was getting my propane for under $3 to start. My next bill showed they upped the price nearly a dollar which equates to an additional $300 for 300 gallons... That's not a price lock. Now they are charging me $194 for being enrolled in the Amerilock program... Dishonest and will be changing companies ASAP.

Unbelievably bad. I ordered propane from them because my new house had an amerigas tank in the yard. After telling me there would be no charge to check out my systems, i immediately received a bill for $300. So I called and cancel the order. This was all within a few hours of my initial call. They said I had to pay for the inspection, no matter what. Had I gotten the promise of free inspection in writing? After disputing this bill for several months it was removed. A few months later I noticed the Amerigas tank had been removed, although I had never even asked for that. Then I started receiving bills for $150 for tank removal. I called and they said the bills were forgiven. Then a few months later the bills resumed and now with overdue fees. Then I started to hear from a collection agency and my bills were up to $250. I called and waited half an hour each time to speak to an agent. Finally someone gave me a claim number for my issue, and told me to call back in a couple of days. When I did that, waiting interminably again, I was told I had to wait a week to call back while they processed my claim. That week was up today. So I called three times today and was never able to speak to a human, and when I entered my phone number to id myself they said they did not have that number on file. I have spent about 7 hours on this all told and will NEVER PAY THEM, no matter what. But I think I will just ignore them from now on.

Horrible. Do not use them! We had an appointment on 8/29 for review of new residential service between 8 am and 11 am. Total no show and as we called to get a status, involved us making 10 calls, always stressing to “live customer service” of the urgent need for answers. Nobody cared, Always sent us back into an automated loop and need to try to get a live person again. Never got answers of any kind. Absolutely horrible. We then called Hellers Gas and got fantastic service! Mike Moyer, Danville, PA.

Their 20 pound propane tanks that I have been purchasing from Publix work one time. The next time I go to use my grill the gas flow is very low and would not heat up the grill properly. I then connected the spare Amerigas tank and it worked fine the first time; second time no problem. I keep returning them to Publix which gives me an exchange but the problem always persists. So I decide to call Amerigas directly to share my issue. Every number i called (4) I was told to call a different number and start all over. When the fourth rep I spoke was about to give me a fifth number, I gave up and hung up the phone. POSSIBLY THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EXPERIENCED EVER!

Would give them negative stars if I could. Was a customer for over 20 years. They were bought out a few years ago and customer service has been abysmal. Was out of gas for a week, promised 2 different deliveries, no record of either when I called and they didn't even know I had one of their tanks. Finally, they wanted to charge me additional money to remove their leased tank when I severed ties. Customer service is definitely outside of the country.

I would give them 0. Been with them in Colorado since they bought out Empire Gas, 20 plus years. Always on prebuy. Last year began contacting by Thanksgiving never got gas till after Christmas. We were down to about 20 lbs per delivery person. I have no problem with the delivery people. Only contact is thru Philippines. Bought our own tank and closed our account. So sad. Doug Nelson
