My 14-Year Tax Nightmare Ended with One Phone Call My story might not be unusual—or maybe it is. I was married for over 40 years and had accumulated quite a lot of debt. What I didn’t know at the time was that my soon-to-be ex-wife had used part of her inheritance just to get her taxes current. That was over 14 years ago. During the next 14 years, I survived, but I didn’t thrive. I didn’t pay taxes. I was in a mental tailspin. I could make enough to get by, but when tax time came, I never had enough to take care of my obligations. So…I didn’t. For years, I ignored the phone calls from companies claiming they could help with my taxes. Every call was a reminder of the hammer hanging over my head—the hammer that I feared would one day come down in the form of the IRS, crushing my life. Then, about a year and a half ago, something changed. I finally answered one of those calls. The caller ID said “Alleviated Taxes,” a number I’d seen dozens of times. I don’t know what made me answer that day, but I’m glad I did. On the other end was a young man named Jonathan. He told me what he knew about my situation and said he believed his firm could help. I explained how for over a decade, I felt like someone was standing behind me with a hammer, ready to strike. That fear dominated my life. Not long after my elderly mother passed, I received a small settlement. I decided to invest in myself—finally—and use some of those funds to face this burden. Fast forward to today: my life has changed! Jonathan called to tell me the IRS had approved an Offer in Compromise. The amount? After 14 years of neglect, penalties, and interest… I only need to pay $100 within the next 4½ months. I can afford that. Fourteen years of fear, stress, and avoidance—gone. I feel lighter, freer, and more hopeful than I have in years. I don’t know if anyone else will ever have a story quite like mine, but I do know this: if I hadn’t answered that call, I would still be living in fear. If you’re in a similar situation, do your homework, check the BBB or online reviews—but don’t ignore the chance to get help. I am a very real person with incredible results. I hope your results exceed mine… but honestly, that might be tough to beat.

I signed up for Alleviate tax and they charged me less than $500 to try and help assess my tax problem that I needed to get handled… and then sent me a letter saying they declined my situation cause my credit score was too low. my taxes got messed up for a few years because I chose to work for DoorDash, and alleviate did issues with the promise that they would be able to assist me further if I continue to make more payments towards them $200 a month, which I literally could not afford to do.. My credit score was destroyed by Santander in an auto loan issue. I think it was kind of messed up that Alleviate tax charged me close to $500 before telling me they couldn’t help me.. I would like to see some of that money back because that money could’ve gone to Santander and a few other bills I needed to handle, including back taxes i am trying to solve. I’m just saying to warn anybody and everybody to stay away from this company cause they will rip us off.

Worse experience ever. First I was over charged. They said $5000 and it was $6558.88. And they did absolutely nothing to reduce the amount that I owed. Basically everything they did I could have done on my own was pretty much what I have had to do. Told me that my payment to the IRS would be $1099 per month. Only thing they did was take my money and said I would have to start making payments after they closed everything. A 6 month extension was all I got. And I tried several times to cancel their service but they said I had a contact with them and I couldn't cancel their service. I found them to be totally useless. I would advise people to avoid them.

If I could give 0 stars, I would! You should alleviate your application with Alleviate Tax! I ended up paying Alleviate more per month than I PAID THE IRS!!! When my plan was ready last year, my loan rep, Bryan LeRodriguez, pressed me to make a dollar amount to pay the IRS while I was at a national convention last August, when I explained to him several times that he would need to await my response when I returned home a few days later! I was still pressured to make a decision! That made me angry. When I asked for a supervisor, I was always re-routed to my so-called rep Bryan! Alleviate Tax only wants your hard-earned money, and they'll show they truly DON'T care!!!! If I had it to do all over, I would contact the IRS myself and negotiate like I'm doing now!! Don't waste your money with Alleviate Tax!! :-(
