Bad Experience With Tax Tigers
I am writing this complaint to help others steer clear of this company. Long story short is I hired them for 25k up front, shortly after hiring them I expressed my concern that they were not going to be able to handle my issue. They assured me they could and leaned on faith to reassure me. They did not resolve my issue, and when asked for a refund they stood behind made up accountings of the time it took, and told me because of the time they have put into the case, there would be no refund issued. Avoid this company at all costs, or you may very well be out 25k like my wife and I are and then they will try to bully you into submission. I am not satisfied with the efforts the company took to resolve my issue. Nor am I satisfied with the service received. Nor am I satisfied with the work completed. Money is clearly their top motive, not client resolution, or their reputation, chock this one up throwing money into a fire pit. What they do may not be illegal, but it sure feels unethical. This has me wondering if they are faith based, or just in it for themselves?
Response from Tax TigerSep 1, 2026
Mr Tapley, since you chose to make a "long" story short, I'll provide a bit more information for people. You retained the services of Tax Tiger to negotiate a settlement with the IRS and CA. You also failed to inform us of dissipated assets and/or additional income you did not want the IRS to know about. This caused many issues for us when we needed to respond to Revenue Officers about their requests for documents, even to the point where you told us I’m not providing that, so we were also left to inform IRS agents that you could not, or would not, provide all information. How would you expect them to work with us towards resolving your case when you are tip-toeing around providing accurate income statements. We worked tirelessly with you on your case for 3 years, first to obtain a resolution with the State of CA, which you agreed to in writing, and then to prepare a settlement offer with the IRS. Once we finally received all documents, we explained the potential issues (dissipated assets, business interests, paying personal bills from businesses, etc). You approved our submission and we submitted it. The offer was denied due to income and assets, which we felt would be the case. At that point we even offered to resubmit the offer once the 3 yr time limit on dissipated assets would expire, however, at this point you told us you had hired another company to represent you and file a new offer with the IRS. We hope that you will divulge all information to them so that can properly represent you. Lastly, you stated our expert advice at the point of your offer rejection was to wait 3 yrs, well, yes it was, and we even offered to resubmit it then at no additional cost, even though the issues were created by you, not us. The IRS will not consider an offer settlement if you have dissipated assets within the past 3 yrs, hence the advice at that point. Not sure what bullying you are referring to, but interesting way to put things. We wish you well moving forward and hope that your tax issues are resolved in a few years.
