The large gap between the middle backrest and the seat of the sofa looks unsightly
Response from Aliving HomeApr 9, 2026
Hi Jimmy! Thank you for your feedback. The gap you noticed between the backrest and the seat is not a defect, but part of the functional design of our power reclining mechanism. The backrest is designed to be detachable, and the internal metal frame and motor require a certain clearance to operate smoothly. This space is carefully calculated to ensure proper movement and long-term durability. We understand how this might affect the overall look, and we really appreciate you pointing it out. If there’s anything we can help with, feel free to reach out!

I adore the look of this chair. Its very Jetson's looking. Great lines. I ordered, got to choose my preferred delivery date, and it arrived exactly as promised. I love the nubby-fleece feel of the fabric. ( i got the white one). Very cushy seat, BUT I was not prepared for the short leg rest and it needs to be adjustable to a more upright back. It leans back. Easy to put together with no tools, but need 2 people to get the back on the brackets.

Your comments about the leg rest, reclining angle, and assembly are very helpful, and we’ll share them with our product team. Thank you again for choosing Alivinghome—we’re glad it’s bringing comfort and style to your space. -AlivingHome

The quality of the couches are great. Glad we got the massagers. The table has already taken us 3 hours to put together and lots of sweat and uncomfortable positions but it also is very nice.
