The Complete Panama Canal tour was good, with great guide and driver. Airport transfer and initial hotel check-in were not up to A & R's usual standards as neither the driver nor the desk clerk spoke enough English to make it a comfortable process. The Costa Rica add-on was not worth the cost. Very little activity for the time and money involved and it did not meet A & R standards for care. We're pretty sure a senior exec met a junior staffer in the restroom and said "we need to offer something in Costa Rica, see what you can throw together."

Everything went smoothly from beginning to end. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.

It was a excellent tour and we enjoyed the various special tours in each location.

I specifically wanted a company to work with some of my customized requests for an international journey. My travel agent found A&R and they were perfect for my needs. I often travel solo and prefer small groups. And I need the reliability of guides, accommodations, and transportation. A&R was consistent. In fact, I have selected them for another international journey in a couple of months.

While every travel day is a joy, a birthday celebrated on one of these itineraries is festive and happy with cake and song that can wake up a restaurant. Over seven decades of providing travel excellence, Alexander+Roberts (formerly General Tours) has presented trips that are worthy of considerable praise and attention, but it is the thoughtful, hardworking and accommodating staff that we call “friends” who magically make every Alexander+Roberts trip possible and memorable! We absolutely loved every moment of this 9 night tour! Our guide George took such good care of our every need/want, the itinerary was perfect, especially with the 3 small domestic flights to save us from Ugandan roads & gave more time in each place, and beautiful hotels/lodges (With the exception of one lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). The chimp and gorilla trekking were our primary focus for this itinerary and they were amazing....everything else was “icing on a very delicious cake”! Thank you A & R....well done!
