Avoid doing business with this company like the plague (or COVID19). I ordered a sprinkler on May 4th and they charged my Paypal account right away. Go forward to May 15th and still no shipping info. I emailed their customer service and never received a response. I called their customer service line on May 18th and was on hold for 1hr and 32 minutes when I put down the phone. All of a sudden my sprinkler showed up today. These guys have NO CLUE of what customer service is, no responses to an email and keeping your customer on hold for over 90 minutes is pathetic. Go to home depot or Lowes, avoid these pathetic people!

This place is horribly overpriced and it's all teenagers working there. The issue with that is they're so busy playing around with each other they can't help their customers.

Went to Garden City Park,LI branch looking for paint. I went into the paint dept alone and after a few minutes a man in a red vest told me I was not permitted there. I asked why and he said what are you looking for and I said "Paint" he said then someone would help me and he walked away and was talking with other red vested guys. I waited around but nobody came to help me and the paint aisle I was not allowed in was empty of customers. Way to diss a customer, good job GCP branch..

I really like there stuff but it’s too expensive

This was the worst curbside pick up experience I’ve ever had. I understand during COVID-19 things may take time and I was fully willing to be patient. But this fell somewhere between incompetence and theft. I was trying to order a lounge chair to match one I already had. My local Ace was out of them so I tried to order from Ace.com. Shipping was over $100 so I decided to check Ace stores within 20 miles of my home to do curbside pick up. I found a store 30 minutes away that said it had three in stock. I placed my order, and paid. I received an email the next day saying that the lounge was out of stock at the store but that they would ship one from their warehouse to the store at no charge. I emailed back and asked if they would be willing to ship to my local store instead and received no response. After another week went by I emailed again and asked if they could advise the status of my order. I heard nothing back. After another week, I called the number the email said to call with questions And was on hold for one hour and 24 minutes before someone picked up. The agent looked up my order and advised my order was “stuck”. They had apparently decided they did not want to pay to ship to the store but did not contact me. They just kept my money with no communication to me. So had I not been willing to stay on the phone for an hour and 24 minutes I would not have gotten my money back. We are frequent shopper’s at Ace because we have chickens and I need to buy feed and supplies for them. After this experience, I will be looking for somewhere else to buy my feed.

I honestly don't know how Ace can stay in business. They are way overpriced. I looked at the price of a tiny plastic step stool and it was $22. A 3 step ladder $37 an average size adjustable wrench $17 $20 and$25. I bought the same wrench across the road at o'reillys for $11.99. And, when I went in; there were about four or five employees all standing around breathing over my shoulder harasing me asking me if I needed help every 5 minutes. Then as I was walking out, the manager asked me why I couldn't find what I was looking for? I simply said it's overpriced and walked out the door. How they can afford that much staff in a tiny store is beyond me. I understand they have to compete with bigger stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. But I think they should just do themselves a favor and stop tormenting themselves by staying open and close their doors for good. They totally and completely suck!

DO NOT use their curbside pickup. It is THE WORST. I placed an order FIVE DAYS AGO for same day pickup, and I still have not been able to pick it up because of them. I ordered 5 items... 1 item was out of stock. Instead of fulfilling the rest of the in-stock items or giving me the option of replacing the out of stock item (a pair of gardening gloves), they ordered the item and won't fill the entire order until the one item comes in, because it is supposed to arrive with their order. RIDICULOUS. What online pickup operates that way? At every other curbside pickup, if I order online and it's out of stock, I get an email letting me know, but they still fill the rest of the order. I'm going to repeat... I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR FIVE DAYS FOR AN ORDER THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AVAILABLE SAME DAY. I understand we're living in different times now, but seriously, don't advertise same day or next day, or at least be crystal clear about the way your pickup works if an item is out of stock, to let people know they'll be waiting nearly a week for an order. I emailed to cancel the order and also called their customer care team... I was on hold for an hour and 15 minutes and never spoke to anyone. No one ever picked up. THE WORST CURBSIDE PICKIP EXPERIENCE EVER. NEVER AGAIN.

Not Even Worth 1Star! Online ordering is worthless. Their site sux and they know it. 52% of reviews being bad says so much. The store in Gatlinburg also sux. 3 visits and 3 times rude employees and owners, didn't have what they said they had. Apparently their phone was out of order but was forwarded to his cell phone we are the only thing that happens is you get the message voicemail not set up. When I did the hour round trip and told the employee about the phone she said “that’s not possible because The phone doesn’t work.” Duh! so I couldn't call first. We live in the mountains, so Ace is an hour round trip. I will never go there again. They give local hardware stores a bad name. And if they want to compete with the big box stores, they need to have hours where people can access them. If I could give Ace Hardware -5 star review I would! Don’t go there!
