Clays Ace used to be my go-to hardware store but my recent experiences have been such a disaster that I don't think I'll ever shop there again. When I walk in no one is there to help and I've had to go looking for store clerks to get assistance. On my last visit I ended up with some moron who wore his face mask like his pants; pulled down and revealing everything. I asked about coax connectors as they seemed out of stock and he clearly had no idea what a coax connector was. He went to check inventory and said he thought they had some in stock and then he wandered off. At this point I simply just left and I didn't even bother to mention the ordeal to a manager because I don't really think anybody in that store cares.

The store in West Melbourne, Florida is deplorable. I would not even give them one star. No one wears a mask there and apparently, they don't care if anyone gets sick. My husband spends a lot of money there regularly, and unfortunately, he has issues with his immune system, and even though he always wears a mask, the employees don't. That shows how disposable their customers really are. Unsafe and overpriced!!! They may as well put a Donald Trump sign on their front door! The numbers don't lie; there were 11,000 cases of COVID-19 just yesterday in Florida. We are boycotting this business from here on out! They charge so much i'm sure they won't notice one customer down! What a disgrace!!!

I ordered a black hanging plant basket on 5/24. Was notified it was at the store to be picked up. Went to the store and they couldn't find it. Found me a green one and suggested I spray paint it black. I said no. They said they'd reorder and it would be in that next week. I called the next week and they apologized that the wrong thing was sent. Asked me to give them 4 days and it would be in. Called in 4 days; it wasn't there. Promised they'd call me the next week and never did. I followed the procedure to cancel the order via email. Today I got an email that my account was refunded $0. I have now had to write them again and ask them to fix it. This has been one hassle after the next after the next. I'll never order online from them again.

I've been trying to get a specific wheelbarrow that Ace had listed on its site. First, the site said it was available at my local Ace. Went there and they did not have any wheelbarrows. Ok, so I went back online and tried to order it shipped to store. Order went through and said it would be available (at another's town Ace) for pick-up the next day. Then I received an email stating it was out of stock at that Ace and that they would order it in on the next shipment. 15 min later I received another email stating my order was canceled - no explanation. Not the first time I've had issues with the Ace website - but it will be the last.

You would think with a big name like Ace Hardware, one would not let the customer call the cancellation line and then be told a order that has not been processed can not be canceled!!! The company sucks you in with a great price on a Yeti cooler and then hits with a HEAFTY shipping charge of over $100 that takes over TEN DAYS. I have had four car rims shipped faster and for less money! My sound advice in the days of Amazon is fix that shipping charge or you just lost a customer FOR LIFE!

"There are [FORTY EIGHT] people ahead of you. Please hold for the next representative" Impossible to cancel an order. Tired of hearing companies use the "covid" excuse, it's been months, adapt.

The Ace Hardware website purchases are terrible. I ordered an item in April, never received it and I can not get them to respond to an email. Tracking shows it went back to their warehouse. Luckily I have the customer service phone number as the removed it from their website today. 49 callers in front of me. It is no longer about the money now it is the principle.

Two weeks ago, I ordered 12 cans of spray paint online. I received a confirmation E-mail. It said they would send updates as they became available. A week went by. As I checked the status on line, it said “preparing to ship” It said this for another week. I tried to inquire via E-Mail. The link did not work. I then called the customer care number. I spoke with Mike. He said the order had left the warehouse in Pennsylvania. It was at the Colorado service center. He thought this was in Colorado Springs. He told me I would have it in a couple of days. Five days later I called again. This time I spoke with Dana. He could not verify where the order was, however promised to call me back with an update. Three hours later I received an E-Mail informing me my order had been cancelled. No reason why, just canceled. In addition, each time a called the “customer care line” I waited over three hours to speak with a representative. Didn’t have any choice due to the E-Mail link not working. Great customer service Ace Hardware!!!!
