Zip Scanners is a solid dependable outfit to buy your scanners and accessories. Prices cannot be beat and tech support will spend as much time with you as needed. If you call them you often get to speak to the owner. How can you beat that ? However the Whistler scanner I purchased will not decode a system 8 miles away from me. Be careful if you want to monitor a Project 25 system. Whistler has been great in trying to solve this issue,but 2 months later I still cannot hear a system that was my main intention to listen to. I am not happy about this.This is no fault of Zip Scanners but may be an issue with the frequencies or tone controls. I would not hesitate to purchase from Zip Scanners again.

Sent email asking for recommendation. Got reply and ordered as suggested. The "railroad package". Was just a radio.... Nothing else. Not even sure it was programmed. Could never get it to unlock. Never used it inquiry with vendor resulted in a "your problem not ours" response. I am somewhat experienced with radio gear......licensed as a "amateur extra" ( highest technical level) several years ago I ended up giving it to a homeless guy..... At least he might have traded it for a cheap bottle of wine. Sure would be a better result than what I got

Hi Craig - Sorry you were disappointed but as we discussed before you purchased as well as a few times after, the railroad package is à la carte. This is stated on the product page a few times as well. The only thing you paid for was the radio, which you received. The package can include programming, adapters, cases and more but you did not add these to your order so we did not ship them. As each users needs are different, all of our packages are à la carte so everyone can choose what they need and not have to pay for unnecessary things. As we discussed, you can still add the additional items and we can remote log in to your computer and program this for you today, but we cannot do for free. Or you could return the scanner as well for a refund if you still have it. As a very small company we really pride ourselves on customer service and negative reviews like this really affect our business. Ordered a scanner. Transaction went smooth. Order was shipped and received in a timely manner. Packaging was satisfactory and received in good condition. My only concern was the lack of shipment notification and tracking information. Overall satisfied.
