I love Zion HealthShare and it's mission. After switching jobs, I got rid of my regular old health insurance and got a member ship with Zion HealthShare. It literally cut my monthly medical expenses in half for my husband and I. It was a little difficult at first to figure out how it worked, but they've got great customer support agents who walk you through literally everything. They've been updating their portal recently and that's made things even smoother. 100% recommend

My insurance sent me a letter that my plan was being discontinued and they were automatically moving me onto their equivalent plan...which was going to be $1,400 more per month. I couldn't believe it. I'm really grateful I found Zion Healthshare as I looked for an affordable alternative to insurance. I pay per month 1/7th of what my old insurance plan was going to cost. Their online portal is easy to use and navigate. Submitting sharing requests is pretty simple and they process in maybe a week or two. Onboarding was cool as they had a live group presentation with a support agent and I could ask questions at the end. Just a good experience overall.

Zion seemed great...at first
Zion seemed to be a really great alternative to regular health insurance at first. Everyone was very polite and caring...until I had to make a claim! It's now been in the works for several months and they are doing everything they can to get out of reimbursing me. At the beginning of this year, I had a tooth that had to be pulled. There was an infection that turned out to be cancerous. We thought I would have to have a (major) surgery to remove it and re-construct my mouth. Before they could plan on this surgery, we had to do a PET/CT scan to see if ther was cancer anywhere else. Turned out I have stage four lung cancer, cancer in my spleen and in my lymph system. I have been given roughly six months or so to live! I have shelled out over $8,000 so far and now Zion is trying to get out of reimbursing me because "there is not enough evidence that the oral cancer is related to the lung concerns." Concerns?! I was just given a death sentence and you call them concerns?
I am really disappointed with Zion. I haven't had to see a doctor in nearly 20 years. And now with this going on Zion is stalling and doing everything they can to keep from re-imbursing me! Not happy!

*Almost* Had a perfect experience with Zion.
We were with zion for 4 years, and we got pregnant last year. After our IUA, they covered all of the maternity bills.
A year later, we received a collections notice from our Anesthesiologist that one bill was never paid, and is now sitting in collections.
We were adamant of sending over any medical bills to Zion immediately, so this came as a surprise.
I reached out to Zion about the confusing situation, and since the bill was older than 6 months, they refused to cover the bill.
So even though it was a maternity bill, that occurred during the pregnancy, and we never knew about the bill going delinquent, they refused to honor their end of the bargain.
Now we're scrambling to make arrangements to get this bill out of collections with zero help from Zion.
Pretty disappointed. Their poor policies has put quite a burden on our family, and now we no longer trust the HeathShare system, let alone Zion.

This company is amazing
This company is amazing, and works exactly like health insurance is supposed to but does not: spreading risk across a large pool of people. I had a serious, life-threatening illness and Zion has paid every claim submitted in the past 18 months. I have traditional health insurance also, but the deductible is $8500 and max out of pocket is $17000. Zion has covered all of this, each year. It took 2 months to get the initial "share request" approved, but once this was done everything has been easy and the company is professional and a pleasure to work with.

Used it only once
Used it only once, but it worked like a charm. Wife had to stay overnight in the hospital for accidental overdose. Bill would have been 50k with insurance. We told them we were self pay. Bill went to $3,200. We paid our 1k IU, and Zion paid the rest. Easy peasy.
