Zion Healthshare is amazing! I was really worried when I was diagnosed with cancer that it would crush me financially. True to their word, they stepped in and took care of almost all of the cost. At the very beginning, they even offered to take care of finding out what my bills were and paid them directly so I didn’t have to constantly submit bills o worry about getting reimbursed for every appointment, radiation treatment, surgery, etc. They treated me like I was family. It was very needed and much appreciated! I’ve never had such a good experience with an insurance company - and it costs a lot less money!

Had them for about a year put our first claim in and denied, A bad infection which they would not cover. Had two doctors write letters that stated that there denial was wrong based on science as they claimed the infection came from a procedure a couple of months before the infection. That procedure even though we had zion health was also not covered but we knew that before hand but the infection had nothing to do with the procedure, Again this was documented and sent to Zion appeals by 2 specialized infection disease doctors. and denied again, they could not even state in there handbooks where it would not be covered in fact it stated it was covered. Thus we cancelled our membership spend $475 a month for nothing at all.

I can't begin to describe the amazing experience i've had with Zion HealthShare. I've been a member since 2022 and haven't had to use the service until the beginning of last year, and since then i've had to open three sharing request. The first time I used it was for a Maternity request. I opened a request on the member portal and they got back to me within a couple days to let me know they'd be sharing into my maternity expenses, from there it was a breeze. I submitted my bills, and they were quick to send me a credit card to pay for my bills. After I had my baby, when I arrived home there were flowers waiting on my door step. They were always to easy to contact and each person was truly kind. The next two requests were related to an injury my husband got, and my baby having an emergency room visit, though the process isn't complete everythings been going SO smoothly. I wish more people knew about this alternative and how much better it is then health insurance. Thank you Zion!!

Zion Health Share is crooked. They do not know what they are doing with billing. They state I had not paid for two months. I verified I had paid. Then they billed me through their administrator Planstin who verified that I was paid in full. I cancelled and they continued to bill me. Then I had an ER visit with 4 days left in my paid month with them and they will not honor the payment of an ER visit as I am no longer with them. Stay away from these crooks.

Fast, reliable. Straight forward. Really great experience. I love the concept, and it works!

As part of Zion Healthshare, they use an online pharmacy (Advanced RX, or RxShare, depending on where you look online). For normal maintenance meds, it has been OK, and the pricing is reasonable. However, for meds that are not maintenance, it has been a nightmare. We used CVS for the initial fill on 2 medications, and then tried to transfer the refills to RxShare. Somewhere between CVS and RxShare, the refills got lost, and CVS was transparent with us about when they did the transfer and everything, but RxShare had a different story every time we called them. They finally gave up and just said that they would have to contact our doctor for new prescriptions. We will almost certainly miss some dosages due to incompetence.

While the bones of the program are good, they are not unlike any other insurance company in that they will not follow their own policies when push comes to shove and they are still always looking for an excuse to do dishonorable things like not pay out the money they promise too. My wife had a miscarriage in November 2025 and we paid the deductible directly to the provider then as outlined in their P&P. By the time we submitted it to them with proof of the date of payment it was January 1st so they tried to retroactively apply the new years higher deductibles to the last years deductible that had already been met in full (even though they themselves record the date of meeting your deductible as the date it is paid directly to the provider -- and separate from the date of submission in every case). The "appeal" was me quoting all their policy and procedures and sending screen shots of them recording the dates paid and dates submitted being distinct, and them simply replying appeal rejected with no rational explanations. They make it hard to pay companies and it takes a ton of effort on your part, but the emergency coverage at least can save you from going broke on a large charge. So, honorable, they are not, but they will do in a pinch if you can't afford anything better.
