I was asked by a long term client to help migrate an older Win10 PC's hard drive content over to a new Win 10 PC. I had done plenty of pre-Win 10 migrations in the past, using a competitive and less costly app. But, I always had to mop up afterward, tweaking "this or that," and after a few days I would finally have a new machine that was running fine. But, the journey was always frustrating. This client really wanted to be up and going, with no or minimal intervention needed. So, after researching my options I selected Zinstall, figuring it might actually do a good job - although I was prepared to do some "cut, weld, splice as required" - just like I always had to do with prior machine migrations. I set aside an entire Friday night and Saturday (and Sunday if needed) to get the job done. Well, I ended up spending more time doing an Acronis disk image on Friday evening than setting up and initiating Zinstall. I let the migration run overnight. Saturday morning I came into the client's office, expecting to be on site for several hours at least. In short, I got to take the day off! Everything came across perfectly. I did have to dial into the Acronis site and migrate the disk image app license from the old PC to the new PC, but that is an Acronis license management matter - not an error or shortcoming of Zinstall's. Monday mid-morning I called my client, after he had a chance to use the new PC a few hours. He reported the migration went perfectly, not a single thing had to be done. He is one happy camper, and so am I.

Background: I was occasionally having issues with my PC booting to a "can't find drive error." I had tried to take an image of the SSD, but it would fail at some point due to sector read errors. I was obviously concerned and wanted to backup as much of my data as I could. I research backup solutions and found Zinstall which claimed to be able to backup everything including profiles, programs, and settings. I tried thier trial version and found it was able to get a full backup, probably because they are backing up only the actual data instead of trying to read the entire partition like drive/partition imaging software. I purchased thier Fullback Pro and started doing daily backups with incremental backups every 3 hours. The SSD eventually started having more issues which started causing freezing and blue screens, and then stopped booting alltogether. I spent about 3 weeks still trying to get an image of the failed SSD as I doubted that the zInstall was going to be able to recover everything. I guess I was just pessimistic. In the end, I bought a new M.2 SSD, installed it, installed Windows, and loaded zInstall. Then, to my surprise, I was able to completely restore the PC to near the same state prior to the failing of the SSD! There were a few things I needed to do because of the lag time between the failing of the drive and its replacement, but not many. For example, I had continued to use Outlook on another computer so when the .OST file was restored, it was 30 days out-of-date. Outlook just had me delete the file and it re-created it from the cloud. As for everything else, it was like I had not lost a day. I had also contacted their support because I initially had an issue with the software not finding the backup. They were very responsive and worked with me on the issue including running a diagnostic program. We found the issue was that I had changed the target of the backup software near the end as the backups had started to have issues too as the SSD was in its final death throes. We corrected what I'd done and the backup was restored without issue. Having just recovered from a full failure of my M.2 SSD, I'm obviously extremely happy with the product. I also appreciated thier help with troubleshooting as that was key to ensuring everything got restored. I'll certainly be using this going forward for my backup needs.

Just wanted to thank you for a very smooth and easy transition on my Desktop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Somehow it even operates very similar to Windows 7 and I wanted that very much. I turned off most of the extra features and I am fine with how it is right now. To me it was worth every cent. You were professional, communicative and prompt! Thank you so much again. I will not hesitate to recommend your service to anyone that might be in the same position as I was. Sincerely, Kevin Barbano Satisfied Customer

I purchased the model with full support, and I'm glad I did. I had problems with the involvement of OneDrive, and tech support at Zinstall went above and beyond getting things straightened out. I'm one happy camper now. I don't know if it is Zinstall or Win10Pro and OneDrive, but I hope clear instructions or program changes are forthcoming. I had a very large transfer of data (almost 2TB), and with multiple internet losses, it was decided the most expedient way was "PC to Container" and "Container to PC". I would use their services again without hesitation.

They updated my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. Excellent job done remotely. They also provided extremely professional customer service all throughout the process including helping me get my old Dell Printer to work with Windows 10 after the install. I have been in the computer business for 25+ years and I highly recommend this company and their Zinstall products.

Excellent program. Worked effectively. There was a little tweaking at the end, as not all files ended up where I could easily find them. But everything was moved--nothing was lost, and every program transferred over. Even all the browser bookmarks! I've used it twice.
