ZillowReviews of zillow.com

I didn't believe the reviews against my better judgment. What a horrible experience. After going through the process I would definitely advise not wasting your time. Like others have stated on here there should be a zero rating

If I could give zero stars I would. I am attempting to submit a rental application on Zillow.com. I am starting a new job and need to move closer to work. I attempted to submit a rental application, paid the $29, and the site won't let me submit the application because I'm still with my current employer. I put the end date and tried to add my start date with my new employer. So now I'm out $29 and Zillow customer service is non-existent. I guess I will report this to the FCC, the attorney general, and any other appropriate agencies.

We have used Zillow for both sides of the home selling process. At first, you think it’s great (it carries some important public info, so it saves you some time) until you get serious and find out their info. is very inaccurate. Not sure where they get the info. but the source(s) is(are) bad. We pop on Zillow intermittently. Noticing discrepancies we began to actually monitor our home/ neighborhood. Our home is severely undervalued (others are as well but we know our property intimately). Homes in the area are also severely overvalued. Contacting Zillow they tell you to give them all your home details (which they turn around & sell) so that their quote will be accurate. If this is true, then why are other homes containing zero info. overvalued? Zillow is a scam & hurting folks trying to sell their home. They should be investigated. Also, they own the majority of the online realty companies. Some advice… search the public information for recent sales in your area, adjust for pluses & minuses (lot size, distance from busy roads, sq footage., etc). If a realtor comes to you ask what their price sources are & if you feel they’re underpricing your home, stick to your guns. A quick sale at a lower price usually benefits the realtor much more than the seller.

I attempted to sign up for Zillow's application program where they will do background checks etc, and file the application for you. Before the setup was complete they took the $29 from my account. And lo and behold, I was unable to complete the setup process. I emailed them asking for them to either fix the problem or reimburse me, and no one ever contacted me about it at all. I guess I'm out money now, but I will be filing this with my bank. It has to be fraudulent to collect money for a service that was never received.

Run like hell, most of their listing are ripe with fraud.

Zillow is quick to respond when a person shows interest in a home. However, almost every agent they refer doesn’t follow up after the initial call. When you get an agent that makes an effort they almost always have no experience and no support staff to help them. Use another home app if you need a home within a timeframe. If you aren’t in a rush, I guess they may be ok. But keep in mind you may be competing with Zillow for houses now!! They are actually purchasing homes here in GA and I was bidding on a house and found out they were as well!! That was it for me. I don’t know how that’s even ethical. But right now nothing is in real estate. Everyone is trying to make $$ and I even know of an agent that bought two of his own listings.

Apparently my experience is not unique. I have twice tried to post a negative review of the agent (I DID follow Zillow guidelines).

They won’t take a critical review or an agent — only positive reviews meet their policy standards. Zillow is notoriously full of inaccurate data and often updates incorrectly (with price and property status changes, for example). Sometimes it shows properties that appear to be for sale, but are not. It also won't show “coming soon” listings in most cases
