ZenfolioReviews of zenfolio.com

The site is always under maintenance. The photos don't load half the time. It's not user friendly. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I was very happy with Zenfolio until two days ago. My client ordered a product that I self-filled. Due to a momentary internet connection instability, she accidentally transacted it three times instead of once. I quickly backed out the two erroneous charges for her, but noticed that Zenfolio's service fee was still a whopping $243.00 for an $1161 wall art product set (that's a 21% fee). I contacted customer service and they have explained that they will only back out a charge once; after that, you pay the service fee even though you didn't sell the product. The agent told me she cannot and will not charge the proper amount of $81.10; she has doubled that amount to $162.20 because I can only back out a charge ONCE; in essence, a small error of a client entering her credit card twice elicits an outrageous $81.10 penalty. This is unacceptable and completely disingenuous. I have been a longtime customer of Zenfolio and renewed my Pro Plan in October. I had recommended the service to others, but never again. Bottom line: stealing someone's money isn't the way to bolster customer confidence. Shameful.

Absolute garbage. I have over 400 dollars of referral credit on zenfolio, and that pays my subscription. Yet every single year they start sending me these fearmongering emails like "updated your credit card so you don't lose your photos and your website!" Morons! The subscription fee is just taken out of the credit. And even if you contact their support they'll be like OH NOOOO YOURE GONNA LOSE IT. When clearly, over the past several years, I have NOT lost it. I'm just waiting to use up my referral credit and then I will remove all of my information from zenfolio and NEVER, EVER, EVER use them again. Absolute garbage. I don't know what happened, sometime in the past 10 years they went from great to garbage. I guess they got bought by some investment company. Update 3/14: so they’re doing that thing where they try to get you to send your info or Trustpilot takes the review down. So I did a bit of research and what do you know: “Centre Lane Partners, a New York City-based investment company, acquired Zenfolio in 2017 and later brought on Loughlin to grow the business.” Is anyone surprised? Literally every two weeks they send me emails saying ooooo “DONT LOSE YOUR WEBSITE YOURE GONNA LOSE ALL YOUR PHOTOS!!!” And look at their reply “oh having a non expired credit card is a policy and we can’t waive that for individuals.” That’s fine, the problem which you have repeatedly ignored is that sending emails to customers stating they’re going to lose all their photos when that statement is an outright lie is not something any respectable business would do.

Initially signed up to a free trial, signed up to their portfolioplus subscription and now my account doesn't exist. the user ID doesn't exist when I try to log in. try using my email address and it says I have no active subscription, yet I have a charge from them on my credit card. Incredibly unimpressed, will be disputing this with my credit card company.

Good range of templates and fairly easy to build a site. However, the speed is dreadful. I have a site with a small number of photos and it is painfully slow. I have checked it on several devices (PC, Mac, iPad) and the site is really slow to load. Definitely do not recommend this and I will not be renewing.

Looks like customers service is on holiday, no help no solution, unbelievable, I have sent gallery link to my customer but it took them to my website, I can’t show them theirs photos and customer service is not responding, it is a nice and well organised service but I really regret singing in Waste of money for what I got

I have been using this company for my photography website for nearly a decade. It used to work well but has fallen behind competitors. And now I can't get any tech support (been waiting 23 hours) for my site which is taking so long to load that I can't use it to sell. I auto renewed two weeks ago. Big mistake.

Probably the worst customer service in the business. They grossly overcharge for the services they provide. I have lost countless customers because they had issues accessing their galleries. I have spent hour upon hour with work arounds just to fulfill my customers orders. And their templates are some of the least attractive on the market. I saw a lot of potential in Zenfolio when they first launched. I now see them circling the drain as no significant changes or improvements have been made to their platform for years, yet the subscription rate steadily climbs.
