Wyndham WorldwideReviews of wyndhamworldwide.com

WorldMark is EXTREMELY UNETHICAL – If you don’t want to lose out on thousands of dollars DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THEM! In what seemed to be an innocent conversation, they discovered we wanted to go to Hawai’i and Disney – They told us, AS A BENEFIT OF BECOMING AN OWNER, WE CAN TRAVEL TO DISNEY AND HAWAII WHICH IS INCLUDED. This is the BIGGEST CROCK ever! Not only is Disney and Hawai’i not included, the additional out of pocket fees to travel are just ridiculous! What is the point of paying for a timeshare you’re ‘supposed to be able to USE ANYWHERE’ yet have to pay extra fees out of pocket?

Wyndham trapped us in a predatory timeshare contract while we were trying to figure out a way to cancel my father’s timeshare. We were told if we "merged" both of the contracts into one that it would put a "cap on the maintenance fees" and we were told they would terminate my father’s contract no later than June 2023. Then proceeded to tell me I could cancel my timeshare at ANY time. At no point was I told that I actually had a limited number of days to cancel the contract. I had spent weeks trying to get any type of clarity on the merging of contracts and why my father’s timeshare was still not canceled. It should not be this difficult to get information on something I supposedly own unless there is something to hide. Wyndham is unbelievable.

If Worldmark invites you to attend their 90-minute presentation, just know it is not 90-minutes. I attended one back in December in exchange for two free trips and it lasted over four-and-a-half hours. Not to mention, the two “free” trips I received cost me a lot of money out of pocket, so be aware, these trips are NOT FREE. They told me from the beginning they were not selling timeshare, so why when looking over my contract it shows it is actually a timeshare. This was just one of their many lies. The sales representative stated I was able to receive rental income to cover the fees that come with this unit, since I “own” it. How can I rent it out when I cannot even get a reservation for myself? Nothing about what they pitched to me is remotely close to what is in my contract and now I am paying for something I cannot afford.

This review recounts a dreadful vacation experience at the Summer Bay Resort in Florida, owned by Exploria, and sheds light on the manipulative practices employed by Wyndham during a timeshare meeting. We were held hostage in a presentation which extended well beyond the promised duration. The salesperson misrepresented the nature of the meeting, making false claims about ownership benefits and misusing terms like "timeshare." The contract presented during the closing was lengthy and rushed, with crucial sections not properly disclosed. Wyndham failed to go over legal documents such as the Truth in Lending and Public Offering Statement. After thoroughly reviewing the contracts, we were able to shine light on all the fabrications that we were told. It is sickening how deceitful this company and their salespeople are. On top of all the lies, they opened a credit card in my name without my authorization. I am demanding that our contract be cancelled, the unauthorized credit line be voided, and my credit restored.

Our experience with Wyndham timeshare has been incredibly disappointing. We were lured in by the promise of amazing vacation opportunities at an affordable rate, only to be met with deceitful sales tactics and unfulfilled promises. During the sales presentation, we were assured that we could travel to dream destinations like Machu Picchu and Hawaii, with prices that fit our budget. However, these turned out to be empty promises, leaving us feeling deceived and disillusioned. The supposed benefits of combining our Gold Crown club membership with Wyndham turned out to be nonexistent. Instead, we were burdened with mounting debt and escalating maintenance fees that were conveniently undisclosed during the sales pitch. Booking accommodations at Wyndham properties has been a constant source of frustration. Even during a recent trip to New Zealand, we found no availability anywhere in the entire country. Regular hotels have proven to be more accessible and affordable, completely undermining the supposed advantages of our timeshare. The ability to earn rental income or sell our points for profit was another false claim. Despite what the sales staff told us, these opportunities never materialized, leaving us feeling deceived and trapped in a one-sided contract. We even utilize your Wyndham Cares program to rid us of the contract only to be told it didn’t sell and that Wyndham would not renew the resale agreement. To others, approach timeshare agreements with caution. We hope that Wyndham takes these concerns seriously and re-evaluates their practices for the sake of future customers.

Stayed at a super 8 in union gap Wa in Yakima and was totally disgusted with first the step to the door had food all over and bugs flying around. The carpets haven’t been cleaned in god knows how long the room’s smelled like mold and the bed sheets had holes and stains. Dirt covering the the lamp and carpet missing on first floor broken juice machine with wires exposed. After I got home and wrote a bad review he called me back and said he had to charge me for a towel that had dirt on it $50.00 but after showing him pictures of the room he said he would refund the the $50.00 I told him I wanted a refund but he said no mind you he waited 2 days and a bad review to give back the money if I damaged something why wait 2 days to charge someone. After looking at the reviews on many sites it says the same thing they’re keeping the deposit for towels and some even said he would refund the money and still never got it back. Do yourself a favor and do not stay at Wyndham hotels. The company will not back up customers even though they all are saying the same thing the health department needs to check this place out

Recently became a Wyndham rewards member after years of being diamond platinum member of best western (only switched to have more hotel choices across more locations). Received some points for a stay, but not quite enough to redeem for a free night, so logged into the app and found option to purchase points. Best western also has this feature in the event you are just a little shy of being able to redeem rewards, they allow you to purchase the difference. I assumed this would also be the case with Wyndham (why else would anyone want to just randomly purchase hotel points for any other reason??) So I spent $78.00 for a total of 8100 points, which combined with my current point balance, was enough to redeem points for a free night. However, Wyndham does NOT post the points to your account immediately, and in fact, tells you AFTER they have been purchased that it could take up to 3 days for the points to reflect in your account balance! 3 DAYS?? They of course then proceed to tell you that purchasing points is also non-refundable. So I ended up buying $78 worth of points I couldn't use, then had to turn around and pay FULL PRICE to rent a room. Unbelievable! I will definitely utilize my non-refundable points, however once I have exhausted them, I will no longer be using Wyndham rewards and will be looking for a more accommodating hotel chain with better customer service! I do not and would not recommend this hotels rewards program to anyone!

The communication is just terrible. You may as well be speaking another language not of this earth. Why does Wyndham get away with treating its clients this way? I bet there is a glitch in the law that allows them to, the ACCC is practically useless and we should not be funding them out of our taxes, the supposed ombudsman is even more useless. If the law is this bad it needs to be changed so operations outside this country do not have an opportunity to blatantly expose people to high pressure selling, lack of ethical behaviour, lack of responsible service and pure greed in numbers (for Wyndham or should I say Travel and Leisure as the new name). More sleight of hand by the name change I bet. I'm a shares owner thats disgusted with what Wyndham dishes out constantly and wish I could dump these shares. I have lost all faith in any govt. consumer protection establishment that we as taxpayers pay for. What a terrible system we are caught in.
