Leslie
Wyndham owner since 2002…
I have been a Wyndham owner since 2002 and never imagined an experience like this. After losing my husband in 2025, I no longer travel and simply wanted information about exiting my timeshare because my circumstances had changed. Instead of being offered an exit solution, I was told the only way forward was to purchase an additional 300,000 points and wait one year for Wyndham to try to resell them. The sales representative described this as something that should stay between him and me and rushed me through paperwork so quickly that I had no meaningful opportunity to review what I was signing. I later discovered I had been enrolled in financing that carries a 10 year repayment term, resulting in monthly payments over $1000, in addition to nearly $500 monthly in maintenance fees. As a woman in her 60s supporting family members, this financial burden is overwhelming. When I returned the next day to rescind after reviewing the contract, I was met with pressure tactics and warnings about dramatically increasing maintenance fees on the original points I had if I canceled. I left feeling confused, intimidated and emotionally distressed. I was given information that my contract would end at my death, but I now believe that this is not true. What disappoints me most is that I clearly stated many times that I wanted out of my ownership, yet I ended up with a larger obligation. I felt rushed, misled, and pressured into a purchase I neither wanted or needed. Based on my experience I strongly encourage perspective buyers to thorough review every document, understand all financing terms, and carefully research exit options before making any decisions. I hope Wyndham will do the right thing and provide me a fair resolution.
