I have limited experience in websites, and most of my questions have been answered by the on-line doc's. When I did have a question, the answer arrived quickly and solved the problem immediately. So far (3 months) my site has had no down-time.

When I compare the speed of Winhost with my other hosting company, Winhost is really poor. I'm not very sure but linux based hosting with gzip option is much more efficient. What do you think? -----------Edited after the reply You're 100% right, but the explanation didn't change the speed ;)

Thanks Serdar. Is linux more efficient? That depends on a lot of different factors, doesn't it. If you don't need any of the specific things that you can get from a Windows/IIS server, then linux could be a better choice. But there are a lot of variables that come into play when comparing hosts, so anyone who tells you "A is always better than B" is probably trying to mislead you. ;)

Product is great but my experience with Support is questionable. Several times I have had to check why I cannot access using FTP and sometimes when users report my site is down. Support's first response is always 'we have checked it at our end and everything is fine' When I keep pushing then all of a sudden things go back to normal - without me doing anything at all. Makes me think they found a problem and resolved it but would never admit or advise me. At times when they have advised me to try to do some things the language used is very technical and seems to assume you are in-house dev or tecchie or something. If you are then everything will be fine - if not then you will struggle

Hello David. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We'll always let you know if we see a problem on our end. We have a public forum where all outages and maintenance occurrences are posted. Often if things seem to go back to normal after you see a problem but we don't, that indicates an issue on the network somewhere between you and us. If it did turn out to be something on our end we would follow up and let you know. If support ever sends you a response that is too technical, just ask them to explain and they'll be happy to break it down for you. They're technically oriented people, so we understand that sometimes their answers can tend toward the technical. Sorry about that.

If you have issues you will need to put in a ticket and wait. One issue I had caused trouble with everyone one the server and they stopped my websites, the problem is they did not notify me of the issue.

Thanks for the feedback, Bill. If one site is causing problems that affect an entire server, we're limited in how long we can wait for a resolution to the problem. Our primary goal is always to provide great service to everyone on a given server, so there are times when we'll have to stop a site to ensure that we can do that. We don't ever stop a limit a site without sending out a notification. Sorry if we got our wires crossed there, but that's definitely part of the process. Hope everything worked out in the end.

Although I've created and maintained websites since the mid 1980's, I am a relatively new Winhost customer. Every web hosting company that I've worked with over the years has their own way of operating, which makes it critical for them to have good tech support, good documentation of their server functions, and be responsive to inquiries. So far, Winhost has been one of the best in each of those areas. I am likely to move other sites that I manage to their company.

These guys are incredible. They have amazingly responsive support, for both tickets and on their forums. They really get involved with their customers and have an actual conversation, not just cut-and-paste answers from a template. The Control Panel is top-notch. Lots of features and options. Combined with remote IIS administration, you have very tight control over your site. Their upload/download speeds are impressive for what you pay. Easily 2-3 times faster than the last two hosting providers I used, which were in the same price range. They seem to be implementing new technology quickly and keeping on things, like .NET Core and SQL Server 2016. That makes me feel assured that I'll have access to new technologies in the future if I want to use them. Their knowledge base is pretty robust too. I've found lots of answers on there quickly when I didn't know how to do something, like setting up remote IIS management, hosting multiple domains on one site, etc. The instructions are thorough and very well-written. They've even helped me out with a folder restore even though I'm not paying for the site backup service. I appreciated that immensely. If you're looking for ASP.NET hosting, consider your search over. :)
