No final me bloqueou. O caso está entregue a polícia judiciária, e durante o processo de investigação já apareceram mais queixosos pelas mesmas práticas.

We are sorry to hear that this person has issues with our hosting service. We would like to look into the issues, but we cannot find the author of this review, nor the person named in the review, in our customer database. So we are not sure if this is a real customer or not. Please do check out the rest of our reviews.

Winhost was advertising first 30 days free. But they didn't refund my money although I requested cancellation after 1 day.
Response from WinhostJan 30, 2025
We are sorry that this customer feels cheated. The customer signed up for a special 30 day free hosting offer and was never charged for the hosting fees. However, the customer opted to register a new domain name. Any addons to the hosting plan are paid services. Unfortunately, domain names are non-refundable due to domain registrar policies. The customer still owns the domain name so they are free to use the domain for email and/or website at any other service or they can sell the domain as well.

First plan is useless
First plan is useless

We are sorry to hear that the Basic Plan did not work for the customer. We have three other plans to choose from. We also list all the features of every plan on our website and our sales team is available to answer any questions. We also have a 30 day money back guarantee so there is no risk to testing us out - if it doesn't work out, then customers will not lose any money. Our team is also available to help migrate sites as well at no cost. We did search our helpdesk and found no tickets related to this reviewer. If our hosting was truly useless, then we would not be in business for so many years and we would not be getting the other great reviews we receive here.

Terrible CS with a "not our problem" mentality toward shared host users.
The CS is terrible here. Whenever we have issues the responses are vague and suggest "it's a problem on your end". No explanation, no information. To get insight, I generally have to ask repeatedly. Twice I've been told we could "upgrade" to a managed server. I don't need to pay triple when a dedicated server would allow me to access the information you refuse to share. The issue is the CS treating shared host customers like they aren't worth helping.
It took multiple complaints to find out the shared Windows hosting is allotted a whopping 256mb ram. It isn't visible anywhere on your account. Okay... fine, I can be more efficient with my code, but seriously... 256mb in 2024?! I didn't set the server up or I never would've accepted this.
The "unlimited" storage is actually 15gb. Every time you run into issues and submit a ticket you are alloted a whopping 5gb more. Is it really necessary to restrict shared hosting to 15gb in an age when 24tb HDDs are readily available? Are we hosting on 2005 computers still?
Recently, due to an unexpected issue, a burst of duplicate emails was sent to the same address every 15 minutes. Similar emails go out to the same address every week or two, so logs would show it's normal behavior that malfunctioned. It was during the holiday when I wasn't around to notice, and I received an automated ticket during thanksgiving stating that abuse would be met with account suspension. No consideration for the holiday or the fact it was obviously a glitch. When I got back the email was inaccessible, but the ticket was repeatedly closed without answers--"nothing was changed". Eventually I was pointed to the "password reset" article, which shouldn't have been necessary if "nothing was changed". Meanwhile, months later emails to certain addresses still don't work (not even the email in question).
To your response: We had no intentions of using "30+ TB" of storage. We likely wouldn't even use 100gb of storage. The point is that you say "unlimited" and then slap a useless 15gb on the account, which is a joke. I also do not believe that you monitor anything. We have never once been emailed about downtime or a runaway process, or even the storage being at 100% capacity. I usually wait a good 3 hours before contacting you guys about downtime, and then and only then does someone look into it. Maybe you have monitors, but no one pays any attention to them. The most information I have gotten on the matter is "a customer was using too many resources and the issue has been resolved", and yet the downtime and extremely slow load times continue to occur day after day for hours at a time. And the point with the email is that your "spam" guard is rudimentary. Not to mention someone/something obviously changed the login for the email, but I was repeatedly lied to about it.

We're sorry to hear this customer is not satisfied. We understand being frustrated with hosting issues. We've been in business for 15 yrs. If everything here were true, we wouldn't be in business today and not have all the other great reviews. A. We offer Shared Hosting (many websites per server). For stable hosting for ALL customers, we place constraints (like memory). We list this on our site and the customer freely chose their plan. B. For stable hosting, we do everything we can to avoid abuse. This includes placing soft storage limits. If the soft limit is reached, we can review the usage. Our hosting is not designed for 30+ TB media archive. No shared host will allow this. C. For email stability we suspend email service when there are spammy patterns. If email is suspended, we work with the customer to resolve the issue. D. If the Shared plans are not right for a use case, we offer other alternatives that are more suitable. It's up to the customer if they want to go that route. We wish the customer the best in their search for a hosting provider.

13 years I have been with winhost and…
13 years I have been with winhost and my emails are suspended with no notice or contact? I am so frustrated as there is no way to contact them, or to access my account or look at changing or updating my billing. I lost my credit card, and need to update with my new one. I have forgotton to update and now I am out to sea without a paddle of support. So unhappy right now.....
Response from WinhostMay 5, 2021
We are sorry to hear that our customer lost their credit card. Before suspending accounts, the customer is emailed. Customers can access their Control Panel and update the credit card information themselves without having to contact us. If the customer cannot access the control panel, then there is a Forgot Password system or they can contact our billing department. We are here to help and there are multiple ways to contact us. First, all customers have access to the helpdesk to open up a ticket with the billing department. If this cannot be done, they can email us directly. The email address is listed on our Support Page on our website. There is a link to the Support page on every page of our website. And also, there is a contact form on our website - https://www.winhost.com/contact.aspx We also have a Forum where the customer could make a public post about the situation. We understand customers can get frustrated due to this situation, but there are many ways available to contact us.

RUN - HIGHWAY ROBBERY IS IN YOUR FUTURE.
15.87 for renewal is HIGHWAY ROBBERY. Run from these folks as fast as you can. ABSOLUTELY ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE. These folks want nothing but your money. I have changed domain registrar, and am now looking for a new service provider. I have spent $1000 with this company over the last few years and I am done. Moving on! You folks need to learn how to take care of people that pay. RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN, you will thank yourself in the morning, THESE ARE NOT THE LOW QUALITY SERVICE PROVIDERS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR.

I'm sorry to hear that you are so unhappy with the hosting services. If there was any issue, you could always contact us and we are here to help. As far as I can see, there has been no helpdesk tickets submitted since you started your account with us in 2014. If you had contacted us, I can assure you that we would have provided high quality services that many customers experience.

Unuseful support, unreasonable limitations
SQL server is limited by 2GB or 5GB depending on plan, which becomes pretty unuseful soon
No log files can be written since the storage is limited (despite the claim that it is not)
Support is unhelpful, trying to say that everything is your problem.
Response from WinhostMar 22, 2017
Hi Alek, it sounds like you would benefit from a dedicated or managed SQL server, which isn't something we offer at the moment, I'm afraid. Shared hosting isn't really meant for large database applications (and a 5+GB database is still large, even these days).
For what it's worth, we do not claim or imply that database space is unlimited. MS SQL database servers are very expensive to spin up and maintain (look up the Microsoft SPLA licensing fees, you'll be surprised), so we would never lead anyone to believe that they could - or should try to - host an extremely large database at Winhost. That's not really what the platform was built to do. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding there.
I tried to look up your support history, but we don't have anyone named Alek Fej in the customer database, so I can't comment on any support responses you may have received.

Terrible service...
These guys are bad... stay away they really don't care... I think they in the middle east and on some computer in a basement... Technical support is a joke. I tried to get my site live for over 8 hours and it just never happened. Their support is only on email and basically canned responses that mean absolutely nothing. STAY AWAY
Response from WinhostAug 23, 2016
Hello Matthew. Sorry you had trouble with the latest site that you set up a few days ago. I see you've had two sites up and running on Winhost for almost six months now with no issues.
In looking at the ticket history it seems that multiple members of our support staff tried to help you with the problem related to your latest site, but you've closed all of those tickets. We'll be happy to continue to try to help you overcome your problems if you want to re-open any of the tickets. That's what we're here for.
For what it's worth, our data center and all of our staff - including technical support staff - are located in the Los Angeles area, where basements are rather uncommon.
