The rose gold finish is a plating, and while it's made to last with proper care, it can gradually wear over time depending on exposure to water, lotions, perfumes, and daily wear. That said, your experience matters, and we never want anyone to feel let down. Many of our customers wear their rings daily without issue, but depending on how often it’s adjusted or if it catches on clothing, it can weaken over time as you described. I just wanted to gently clarify that the ring you purchased was our Remnant Ring, which is listed in the materials section as being crafted from silver plated copper with a smooth, polished finish. It isn’t described as 100% sterling silver. With plated pieces, over time and depending on exposure to things like water, lotions, or skin chemistry, discoloration can sometimes occur, including the slight color change or marks you mentioned.
