The Whole Foods concept is a scam
The Whole Foods concept is a scam. Eleven dollars for a dozen eggs? Six dollars the pound for cracked, cat-faced tomatoes? No. Sorry. Very, very little of what they sell is actually local, and they've priced staple items so unforgivably, ridiculously highly that it's clear they're trying to herd you toward their in-store deli, which is also wildly overpriced (and average as hell.) My husband and I have been food activists for years and thought we'd give them a try. Verdict? This place is a JOKE, and the joke is on the consumer.
