Until they put in decent battery, don't bother with this product. No matter how close I put the base charger to the dog collars, I have to charge the unit every one to two days. If dogs got lost, not enough battery life to track them down. Why bother.

Tracker works great it's easy to set up and use.

After that the problems started. It will track my pet's activity, but will not show her location. The people at Wistle tell me that is is because the Verizon coverage at my location is spotty. Well, my Verizon cell phone works fine here, so you would think the tracker would also. They don't seemed inclined to replace my tracker, as far as they are concerned, it is a Verizon problem. Hummmmm.......When it works, it is wonderful, but if they don't back up the product i don't think i can give any more than a minus one in stars.

I am very happy with this GPS. I have a hound and he runs off all the time. But I don't have to worry because all I have to do is text track, and it updates every 3 minutes to tell me his location. The company also emails a monthly report on how much activity your pet is getting. This GPS collar has saved me and my hound!

I need to reset Duke's boundaries further from my house....so that I don't receive as many notices throughout the day. Consequently the battery doesn't last long enough!!

I'm still in my trial run of Whistle, going on month 3. The technology and the idea of this is truly amazing. My only issue is simply geographical. I live in a small town and own a small corner lot. Until they get to a point where you can shrink the radius down, this is more built for people with a large plot of land. It updates position every 12 minutes, I wish it signaled you the moment the it left the whistle zone. That's really my only gripe, but I'd definitely recommend this to anyone that has a dog that enjoys freedom, but loves to wander.

Come to find out, they use Verizon x1 tech. It takes a couple of minutes, if not more to get the location of your pet. And if you don't live in an area with a strong signal, don't expect more than 12 hours of battery life if you don't update the location. I had an issue with my first tracker. It took them over two-three months for them to come to the same conclusion I did with having a bad battery. But still didn't do anything about the battery life in a bad location. After doing my research a bit more, there seems to be better options out there with replaceable batteries. Plus the base station is bulky. I don't like carrying it around when I go to another location.

The Whistle GPS tracker works just as advertised. I get much longer on a battery charge than they claim - it's running at least 25 days for me - and you get a notification when it needs charging and when it has finished. I love having the peace of mind the unit provides. My previous dog had gone missing for 3 1/2 days once and it was only good fortune that we got her back since she was injured and behind a fence so the chip didn't help.
