WhistleReviews of whistle.com

We recently had our first "adventure" using the system. The map mapping was exactly where our dog felt the need to wonder at 4am. I couldn't be happier with the service. I wish I could afford to do it for all our dogs. There should be a multi-dog discount ;-)

Whistle does what it advertises, just a lot slower than I would like. When my Huskies leave the Whistle Zone, I am not alerted to it right away, it will take between 3 to 10 minutes for me to be alerted. 3-10 minutes with a Husky and you are talking long gone. Once they leave the Whistle Zone, it may take a minute or two for the App to get a GPS signal, but I feel it acquires it in an okay amount of time. Again, faster would be better, I'd give tracking alone 4 stars. The delay on when they leave the Whistle Zone is 2 stars for me. So they get 3 stars from me. As soon as they lose connection with the base station, I would like to be notified. I'd take reduced battery life for instant notification that they left the zone.

I love Whistle. I especially like it when I leave my dog with a friend when I'm out of town as I can see when he leaves and returns to his zone. I make sure to invite my friend as an "owner" of my dog so in the worst case scenario if the dog got out my friend would know where to go look for him. I also like just the daily notifications that he's in the zone or out of the zone when my husband walks him. It's comforting and fun to see where he is.

The great: when our young lab catches a scent and runs off chasing it, it's usually very easy to figure out where he went and run him down. Just pull up the app on your cell phone and track the dog. The battery usually lasts about a week and you get plenty of warning that it's getting low. Caveats: If the dog is very close but out of sight, it will tell you that he's still in the home zone. Occasionally he leaves the zone (which is a little large) before the tracker updates again. When tracking, it updates about every 3 minutes, and this young dog can cover a lot of ground in 3 minutes. You need to make sure that you get good coverage from Verizon in your area, because that's the cell service this uses. On the whole, this is a great product, and we've recommended it to several friends. I would buy it again.

I have had a Tagg/Whistle tracker on my bolting Schnauzer for about four years. In every case that I had contact with Whistle, in set up, repair/replace and general questions about the tracking service, they have been positive, responsive, and very concerned with my pet's welfare. I can only say this was the best gift that was ever given to Minnee and I.

I currently have 2 trackers. They give me peace of mind when I'm not home. The only issue is 1 of my trackers gets stuck.

My cat travels. A lot. Such a relief to know where he is, especially when it's time to come in for the night and leave the great outdoors to the coyotes. Customer Service has always been concerned, helpful and responsive.

Both my dogs have whistle collars and it provides a great layer of security on top of my electric fence. I can easily track my dogs location and have sued it successfully to follow one of my dogs through the woods when she got away from me. Very reliable and easy to use.
