My purchases from Wayside Gardens have about a 50% - 60% survival rate. Since most of my purchases are fall plantings such as bulbs, it is 5-6 months before I am aware that they are dead or alive. The tulips have done well, but others such as peonies and asian lilies have never even sprouted. Other items such as some ornamental grasses died within 2 weeks of planting. I've had better luck with larger plants purchased from Lowe's that were locally grown.

Two of my plants arrived dead, and it was obvious they had been packaged dead since there were no fallen leaves in the box. Then, they didn't reply to any of my emails on the subject, so I had to look up their phone number, it's not the ordering correspondence. Fortunately, when I called, they did give me a credit for the dead plants.

Wayside Gardens has an incredible selection of plants and shrubs not seen on other online websites. The prices are a bit high, but if you catch a sale- and they have many- you can get a good deal.
