Walgreens is a monopoly
I have gone to the same pharmacy for 14 years. They were Rite Aid and then became Walgreens. Walgreens and bought up all of the Pharmaca local pharmacies and closed them down. Which meant an overload of customers at Walgreens. Now you cannot even directly call your pharmacy. You have to go through the robot Which doesn’t give an option of calling the pharmacy. Then you go to what I’m assuming is at the fulfillment center with people who have no contact or information from the local pharmacy. If you’re lucky they will transfer you to the local pharmacy. However, eight out of 10 times they transfer you to the wrong place or the call is dropped. I have a prescription that is a controlled substance that is filled once a month. They refuse to fill it on the days that it is due. When they do fill it, it comes from the fulfillment center because they keep none of it on hand, which usually takes 3 to 4 days. by that time I am out of the medication and going through withdrawal. I also had a prescription for a topical cream called in to the Walgreens. They told me that I could not receive it because it was out of stock and that it would take 2 to 3 days for it to arrive. By chance I went into my pharmacy and asked about it. They is found the topical cream on their shelves for. in order to get any help from your local pharmacy you have to go there. It takes less time than trying to call them.
