Uploaded the website to vultr dedicated…
One star. We are an Australian e-commerce business processing around 80 orders a day. We migrated our production site to a Vultr dedicated server. Two days later, with no prior notice, Vultr suspended the account and terminated the service. The reason given was that we were “not a good fit” for their platform. No breach of their acceptable use policy was ever identified to us, before or since. We asked for a short reactivation window so we could export our own data. That request was not granted. We lost access to our production website and its data entirely. Support is US based and does not cover Australian business hours. Our request sat unanswered overnight while our store was offline and orders were not being taken. Vultr also continued charging the balance for the service during the period it was suspended and unusable. Whatever their terms permit, terminating a live e-commerce customer two days in, with no notice, no stated breach and no opportunity to retrieve their own data, is not a reasonable way to run an infrastructure business. If you are running anything commercially critical, keep your backups somewhere other than Vultr and understand that your account can end without warning. We have taken a big loss with lot of data on our website and we will be taking thrm to all the gobernment agencies to file a complain both in USA and Australia.
Response from VultrAug 10, 2026
Thank you for sharing this detailed feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about the disruption to your business and the impact this had on your production website. We understand how serious an unexpected account restriction can be for an e-commerce business, particularly when it affects access to production data and prevents customers from placing orders. We also recognize your concerns about communication, response times across time zones, and billing while an account is restricted. Account suspensions and terminations can occur following Trust & Safety reviews, but we understand your expectation for clear communication and an appropriate path to address outstanding concerns, particularly when business-critical services and customer data are involved. We would like the opportunity to have the case reviewed in detail, including the account action, data-access request, support history, and billing. Please contact [email protected] with your account details and any relevant ticket numbers so our team can investigate and provide further assistance.
