These people are a joke. I placed an order with them for a birth certificate for $23 on November 20. They never sent the confirmation email that it was sent that they said they would send (I checked my spam), I never got the certificate, they didn't reply to 2 inquiries about it. New York City eventually replied that it was sent but I don't necessarily believe that. To top it off a vitalchek website says the order is still "processing" when you'd expect it to say shipped if it was shipped. No reply to the complaint I made at that point. They have an exclusive online contract with NYC and tons of other places. The only option (besides complaining to government about their utterly outrageous service) is to cough up another $18 for a tracked delivery when you use them. Grrr.

Wish I could I give this service zero to negative star rating. They are a paid service, you are NOT dealing directly with a government agency. Their website comes up in conjunction with government agency sites to make it appear as if they are part of the agency you are requesting documents. In my case, a long form birth certificate. If you chose to use them, make sure you know your exact, pertinent information. They will charge your credit card first before investigating your request and then void your request with an explanation of why they couldn't process. I did not know the information I provided did not match the birth record. I made two attempts which appeared as if I was to be charged approximately $25. An additional fee to expedite delivery conveniently appeared after the transaction was complete and my credit card was charged over $41. It took over a month for each transaction to be reimbursed and when they did, it was minus $8, which was probably a fee they took to attempt to process my request. Their practices are deceitful and seem like a scam. Unfortunately, they now have a lot of very sensitive information that I would have never given out over the Internet and $16 of my money for not providing me a service. Save your money, unnecessary aggravation, and giving out your personal information and don't use this company.

Took a month +/-, probably out of their control. But they allowed the shipment to be shipped without checking to confirm my being home to accept. So it was shipped while I was out of town. They did nothing to attempt redirecting delivery to a date I’d be in. So they earn 2 stars for getting it prepared but failed to make sure it could be delivered. Not worth the $60..

Just canceled my order out of the blue and no refund?

A scam with no quality control or genuine customer service. I paid over $30 to get my grandfather's death certificate from the City of New Haven, Connecticut. VitalChek said it was sent but I never got it. When I complained, they gave my the NH phone number. NH never returned my calls. I asked VitalChek for my money back. Again I got the NH phone number. The kicker is that there is ABSOLUTELY NO PROOF ANYTHING WAS EVER SENT. I believe VitalChek and New Haven simply pocketed my money, plain and simple.

Not a good experience at all 7/29 I ordered some personal documents from vital check express mail and Paid $48 some change for it today is the 8/22 still never receive the document from his company Vitalchek 😡😡😡😡

If I could give minus 5 stars I would! They plain ripped me off! It is August 18th and I ordered on January 20th! No marriage certificate. No response to my emails. When I try to call I get put on hold automatically and it lasts forever. I mean forever. They never answer the phone. Why is New York State affiliated with a scam company? I am submitting a consumer fraud complaint with the NYS AG today. Thieves!

Scam, don't do it. For weeks I heard nothing and then the link I was given went nowhere. It took several emails to finally get a refund.
