I ordered the Brookfield Natural Spectrum Pharmacy Desk & Table Lamp because I really liked the shape of it. What I hadn't realized though is that it would come with a special bulb and that the light of this bulb would be very cold and bright. I appreciate that they specialize in "natural" lighting but this did not feel natural, it just felt cold und uncozy. And because it was not a normal screw-in bulb I was not able to use one of the incandescent bulbs that I still have. I don't often return things that I order online but on the few occasions that I had to do so I was always provided with a return shipping label. Well, Verilux do not provide this and they are not very clear about this on their website, either, when they talk about their 100% money back guarantee. My cheapest shipping option was $40 so this turned into an expensive mistake. And all I got from their customer service was "I am very sorry," no offer of a solution. Not the attitude I expect from a company who sells goods online.

I never received my lamp. This may be more a UPS issue trying to deliver to a business address than a Verilux issue, but after two attempts lamp was returned to sender, even though Verilux shows the lamp as having been delivered. Still have not received my refund for the purchase. Very frustrating experience.

For over 10 years, I have used Verilux bulbs and CFLs in my work lights in my sewing room and in my reading lights in my living room. I discovered quickly that they not only reduce my winter blues, they help me read more easily and see details in my sewing work better than any other light I have tried. Add to that excellent customer service and folks willing and able to discuss geeky lighting characteristics (spectrum distribution and effects of Kelvin numbers on vision, etc) and it just doesn't get any better than this. I've bought "daylight" and "full spectrum" lamps from other companies and none are as good as those from Verilux. Worth the extra money and effort to get them!

This is the greatest light in the world, especially if you read something besides lighted screens. It mimics natural daylight and is so much easier on the eyes than regular lighting. I had one for 10 years. It finally quit and I have ordered another. Have decided I never want to be without one.
