Amazing product. Great speakers.

I recently purchased a boom 2 lite as I wanted a speaker to use with an iPod when out in our campervan. I bought this speaker because it has many good reviews and clearly states on the packaging that it is compatable with an iPod. It was easy to follow instructions to pair the speaker to the iPod and the sound quality is very good. However, the instructions then state to download the app and here my problems began. I have an pld ipod running IOS 6, but you need IOS 10 to run the app. I contacted customer services as the speaker works without the app and I asked if there was a way around this problem and if I really needed the app. I was told I didn't need the app to run the speaker but needed it in case of firmware problems as the app is the way these are updated. Numerous emails kept telling me to download the app, so clearly not reading the question. After weeks of emails I was eventually told that the app is NOT compatable with any iPod. I have suggested that this means their packaging is misleading, but no response to that. I have been given an .exe file but I have no idea whether this will work if firmware becomes an issue. I have also been told that the app is compatable with a KIndle Fire, but that is not true either as you need some technical savvy to get Googleplay on the Kindle first. I have given up trying to resolve this issue and am just keeping my fingers crossed that Firmware does not become an issue. Overall, a very good product, poorly trained customer service agents, misleading packaging and an app that only works if you have the most up to date android or apple smart phone.
