If you try to cancel pre booked Annual Leave on the app it deletes it off the system completely and doesn't update. No one seems to know what happened to it. If you ask your administrator to change AL manually it still shows on My Schedule, it doesn't update. I called HR and was told there's a problem with the app and to contact UKG myself WTAF??It's rubbish. I've lost several days holidays thanks to this sub standard app, it's Amateur Hour.GET A GRIP get it sorted so it's actually user friendly

Absolute garbage from a sysadmin standpoint. You would be better off using paper.

Junk all around. We were forced into using this by our city (low bid Im sure). After over a year of constant glitches and fixes or attempted fixes this system is still crap. Slow, glitchy, constant work arounds and not user friendly AT ALL. Reminds me of the old DOS computer days.

Probably the worst app I have the misfortune to have to use! I hate it! So I forgot password, I did the typical password reset, so email comes through, I reset my password and when trying to log on, it wants the password I forgot, aswell as my new one! If I knew my old password I wouldn’t be resetting it would I?? Idiots or what!

An absolute joke. Drives our whole company insane!!! I have wasted hours and hours trying to figure out how to get it to do the most basic tasks.

This has got to be one of the worst time clock app systems Kroger ever agreed too. Now Kroger has said it’s so bad they don’t want employees using it and to go back to the old kronos system. Kroger wasted a ton of money on this and it’s getting worse the longer we are forced to use it. The app and system is so full of bugs, glitches and issues that it isn’t even funny when you’re messing with people’s pay. Our union has filed two grievances over this time management system because it went thru periods of being down more than up. Employees were not able to get punches in on time and unable to get paid properly if at all. I decided I am filing union grievances left and right for every mess, modification or quiet firing tactic they try to pull on me as I am fed up with ukg and how easy is for management to muck with your schedule. This is wrong and yet corporations could care less about the peons that make it possible for their stores to function. Vacation pay has been broken for almost 1.25 years with no fix in sight. Good lord let me just get paid for one damn vacation this year. Nope. I’ve investigated two vacations and neither one got approved with a green check mark on them so the system can cash out vacation pay. 1. Current manager is bias selecting staff so they can get paid vacations which is ethically wrong. or 2. Ukg’s system is broken and it’s a huge issue. Vacation pay does not go against the store but multiple staff have reported not getting paid for their vacations since fall of 2024. This is not acceptable. This is time we earned and it does not count against the company. Shame on you ukg. I’m filing a grievance each time from here on out I don’t get vacation pay. If one voice does not speak to get this damn issue fixed then this is what I’ll do. If it is our manager he’s bias discriminating against me and that’s a huge no-no. In which case I have an eeoc claim. This system makes it too easy for the scheduler or manager to fudge your schedule. My store has done this a lot to me and others recently at my location. I started union greivencing each modification without a formal telling me 48 hours in advance of the change. This is not acceptable. Not only does this violate our union writing rules they can not modify it after a certain time frame of being published. They’ve gone too far and modified our schedule(s) even into the live work week. No this is not acceptable. I am filing a grievance for each modification. New update in June of 2025 no longer lets us manually over ride our punches. This sucks as our pay is minute pay and if the damn system is taking too long to punch you in, you loose pay over it. Usually after the third fail I just go strait to manual over ride as these minutes add up by the end of the week. Geo location is almost always broken. Since the roll out of this damn app, the geo locations for punching have usually been broken or failed to register you properly. You should be any where in the building and it should work right? Nope. The app forgets to calculate that most phones have a slight gps drift. This is a nuisance when punching. As I get the error message a lot of “you’re not in designated areas to punch”. When I’m physically in the middle of the damn store! Kroger no longer lets us or wants us to use the app because of how terrible it is. Kronos is the old system and the company left it for the 10% that can not or do not want to use the app for what ever reason. From technology challenged, to phone acting up, to don’t have a phone, or don’t want work stuff on phone, to the mentally handicapped... These reasons are why kroger didn’t remove kronos. They needed this system for this group to have a back up or an option. It’s like when kronos forced us to collect finger prints and I opted out of it and told them I would not give it to them and they had to give me a pin like it or not. With how bad this system has been lately I might go back to the old kronos system. Even if it means being occasionally customer harassed for a register even though I no longer cashier. I was happy to stop using the same germ filled time clock the whole store uses that never gets cleaned. Despite our company using this for almost 2 years the roll out was a clutter muck mess. The company never told anyone and it dropped the ball at passing the information to the store level. Many people panicked. 2 years later and people are still confused on how to use this system beyond punching in and out. Vacation pay input requests are frustrating as well. It's not clear and not easy to say I want vacation but I want it paid or unpaid. Only management can input sick pay request not employee. If you call out sick it would be nice to manually enter it so they don't have to each time. Paid or unpaid option would be nice. Some times I'd like it unpaid to nurse what little i have left. Overall this whole system sucks and Kroger made a poor decision to move over.

UKG takes overpromising and underdelivering to a whole new level. I am incredibly disappointed with the software and with the implementation process. The implementation process has been a complete mess. Right after signing our contract, UKG did a massive layoff and the effects of that our apparent. The representatives we have helping us are massively stretched out and overutilized. All of them are working with way too many clients which means we do not get the time and attention that is needed to implement a system this big. Not too mention, several of the people we have worked with seem quite unfamiliar with the system. I will ask questions about something and they will tell me they don't know how to do it. Every module we have to implement is basically built from scratch. They offer no real guidance or best practices. They frame it as customization, but it is just a mess and overcomplicated. The UI/UX of the system is awful. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they don't have an actual UI/UX team to design it. The whole system is cumbersome and not intuitive. The claim that UKG is supposed to be a one stop shop that has everything, but there are many things it doesn't do. The checklist are simply that - checklists. Basically something you could write down or do in Office. While other HRIS use checklist as actual steps and actions you can take within the system. Everything also takes months to implement even a single module. Also, it takes 30 days just to assign a person to a module. When we set up payroll, for the first 2-3 months, we had an error with every payroll which is unacceptable. The benefits module is an absolute disaster. UKG claims they will coordinate the benefits with your benefits providers, but we have had to do that all by ourselves. They do not communicate well or maybe even at all with each other. When we implemented the benefits module no one properly explained how to actually fill out the information and we later found out we were doing it incorrectly which lead to a whole bunch of errors. They claim train the trainer is their method, but training is basically nonexistent. Since everything is completely "custom" the training videos are not helpful. Given the chance, I would never have signed up with them and would fire them now if we weren't locked into a contract. I have used other HRIS systems and this may be the worst. Go with BambooHR, Paycom, or ADP. RUN AWAY from UKG!
