UHC has overcharged me $114 They won't admit to this, yet Social Security confirmed that it was UHC who withdrew the additional money from my checks. UHC also refuse to pay a simple dental claim 9 months ago from last July. Prior to the routine exam and cleaning only, I checked online to see if they were in network. I also called to verify that this dentist was in network and both times got the okay. The dental office also checked to see and got the green light. The last time I spoke with the dentist, it appeared UHC had the "mistake" at their end and entered the dentist as both in and out of network. When you call their number, no one answers. If you leave a message, no one returns your call. I've waited 11 days, and called the same person twice today 03/04/20 and still no reply. At first, I thought I was dealing with complete imbeciles (UHC) but now I think this whole thing is contrived to defraud consumers. And I bet they get away with a lot of it. My insurance agent who has been assisting me through this-9 months now, is getting absolutely no cooperation at all. I will keep pursuing this until I get complete satisfaction.

Lousy coverage, no customer service - literally NO response to repeatedly submitted online inquiries, and overall terrible communication with members and providers. This is hands down the worst insurance company I've ever dealt with.

Over 1/3 of the reviews of this insurance are single stars. Nearly 50% are 3 stars or fewer. Does any one at UHC care about these reviews? Your organization is a disgrace and you customer "service" a total failure. The left hand does not know what the right is doing, though I suspect that it is a tactic to stall the process and discourage callers/patients. The resources invested in trying not to renew prescriptions or issue prior authorizations is staggering, and we are paying for it. This pitiful insurance is just one window into the overall debacle represented by the American health delivery system. What will it take to bring some order in it?

When you call them, either you get lucky and get someone who wants to look up your last call or unlucky and they don't care or cannot find it. Then I gave an honest feedback and they left a number for me to provide further feedback. I held for 5 minutes and then they disconnected me.

Terrible service.Have discontinued their Medicare 'Gap Coverage' because their customer support is very poor. Their call center help desk personnel are the least trained, most incompetent employees, I have ever experienced-am familiar with dozens of other providers and their call cenetrs are much superior. Escalated complaints to upper management and got 'form letter' responses. Escalated to AARP which sponsors United Health Care & they paid 'lip service' to my complaints. I quit AARP as a result as well.

This is a bad review for Amwell and United Healthcare (UHC), who seem to be conspiring together in my opinion. The process to use this service is as follows; 1. When signed on to UHC's website they link directly to Amwell for virtual visits with an ad-like banner about how convenient and inexpensive and COVERED it is. 2. Go to Amwell and go through their process, where you put in your insurance and can choose a doctor. Nowhere do you have the ability to see if it's in network for you or to select to only use an in network provider (I triple checked this). 3. UHC then denies the claim and then has you pay for the denied service on UHC's own website!!! In my opinion it seems as though they're either keeping the entire payment or they're taking a payment processing fee from the claim THEY DENIED! From the provider THEY RECOMMENDED! This is crazy, I can't believe this is legal. I will be filing a report with every agency that oversees insurance companies as this is absolutely ludicrous.

Be careful. Xrays and ultrasounds are both advertised as covered 100% as "diagnostic" but when those procedures were actually obtained, the insurance company classified both as "surgery" because done inside a hospital. This made no sense at all, so I used their appeal process but was stonewalled by bureaucrats. The difference to me was over $2000 so I contacted a lawyer for advice, who told me that the insurance company was wrong and unethical but it was not worth fighting economically due to litigation costs. He advised that in the future always go to a facility named "diagnostic center" for an Xray or ultrasound so they can't play that game.

The worst experience; Stay away, do yourself a favor: don't even get a quote, it does not mean anything anyway. A month after they give me quote they raised it three times what they quoted me. Took me hours on the phone to cancel, trying to discourage me.
