I moved from Texas to Maine June. i have been trying to get a Primary Care Physician since then. The first two the UHC referred me to did not take patients but only worked in hospital. I then tried on my own to find one using the UHC network list. The next eight in network did not accept me as patient. The last one from the in network list said she would accept me but UNC would not accept her even though she has other patients with same insurance provider. I now have no more prescription refills. Customer service could not explain this but said she could not be a PCP even though she thinks she is. I was told that if I saw her I would have to pay a specialist copay. I set an appointment. When I got there I was told I needed a referral from my PCP which I do not have. Customer service offered to provide me another. I doubt it. I will change insurance provider ASAP see if I can find a way to get meds.

After spending a YEAR trying to resolve a claim problem, I finally had to file a written complaint with UHC. After having an initial procedure for which I paid nearly $300.00, UHC sent a check to refund the entire amount I paid. When I had the very same procedure done again about five months later, I received a bill for the same amount, but then was told I had to pay it this time! No refund check from UHC. When I called UHC and waited FOREVER to get a claims supervisor on the phone line, I was told that no one really knew why the amount was refunded the first time. The supervisor "guessed" that it was done as a "courtesy." I replied that NO INSURANCE COMPANY EVER DOES ANYTHING AS A COURTESY! Before I finally paid the bill, I had the doctor's office representative write a statement on the bill she mailed to me that this was the LAST payment due and that I would not owe any more money. All this because of the LOUSY JOB done at United Health Care. Remedy: NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE, NOW!!!!

I found UHC to be extremely difficult to work with. In fact, the worst insurance companies we have EVER dealt with. There is no clear explanation of coverage when a UHC representative is asked. On SEVERAL occasions, I was told one thing (with regards to coverage), then when the claim was made, it's now suddenly different. We are also passed from department to department and have difficulty getting a straight answer - at that. We are Expat Insurance members, and several times I've received a reply back from UHC saying: "Please MAIL (?!!) your claim to this American address". Do you know how long it would take to mail something to a PO BOX from overseas?? This is constantly a problem. Local departments dealing with International claims. Also, sensitive documents seem to become "lost" over at UHC. For example, I submit a claim with all the supporting documents, and then I have a request to RE-submit these documents again. Where are these personal SENSITIVE documents going? Are they being intercepted by a third party? Overall, I would NEVER recommend UHC to anyone as there are serious disorganization problems within UHC and sensitive documentation is being lost.

Terrible experience trying to cancel this insurance. I’ve been trying to cancel this health plan for a month now and they keep trying to take out one more payment (can’t even tell you how many missed payment harassing notices I’ve received). Information keeps changing first they said told me I can’t cancel on my husbands behalf (even though I told them from the start that he doesn’t speak English) that he needs to be present. Now I’m told I should have sent an email including a new policy proof which he doesn’t even have. After 2 payments We realized that this company is a total SCAM. It’s not very clear how this health insurance works or what you would even get back if you actually went to a doctor. Now in my attempts to cancel it totally confirms how horrible they are. They are trying to take a payment for October when we have notified them on September 2. 2022 we want to cancel. Anyone that considers signing up for this think twice. It’s like being robbed in front of your very eyes. I wish I could take the $200 something that we paid them for 2 months. I’ll will be spreading the word out of how terrible they are anywhere I can. Stay away from World Wide UHC - it’s just a legalized form of SCAM. I just spent 40 minutes on the phone trying to cancel and it still hasn’t happened, customer service is completely useless (have some rude folks that want to keep talking over you, don’t care what you have to say).

Horrible I was in the ER for extreme issues with swallowing and inflammation. At the time I was 96 pounds and 5’4. I was only able to drink liquids. I paid the bill, and then they send me letters for a whole year - literally don’t stop billing me it www insane. Anyway, they claimed that my visit where I had Eosinophilic esophagitis emergency and my barely swallowing emergency wasn’t an emergency!!! This is after I already paid - and they went back and revoked it?? A year later?? I paid 8k in 1 year because these scum bags didn’t do anything. Also, their help desk team is useless. I am eligible for a rebate it looks like which I could sure use and now I can’t even open the pdf document because their website doesn’t work and they don’t seem to know how to unlock that for me or send it to me in an email? I have been waiting on hold for an hour and a half.I have Cigna Global now couldn’t be happier. But steer clear of UHC. I’ve been on hold for more than an hour lol

Never never never not not not they are not give you back money even you go to some doctor and even you have emergency you’re gonna pay for that!!!

I’m a SSDI Medicare recipient who NEVER signed up for United Healthcare, yet I get constant harassing mailings at least two days per week from these money hungry scumbags. Just another amerikkkan scam folks. Cover your six because those dopes are desperate to stab you in the back and scam you!

Worst health insurance company ever. If you don't send an appeal letter, they will refuse or try not to pay for the procedure. It's like the insurance representative is better than your doctor. Most of the dental services they don’t cover even when you are in so much pain and with doctor’s letter. Heartless company.
