Repeatedly Customer Service Reps promise to call you back because they cant find the answer to your question or resolve the problem. They never call back do not believe them. Agents are untrained, unempowered, and only keep repeating the same things over and over, that sometimes do not apply.
Have sent in out of pocket reimbursement claims that are ignored. Have has double charges on autopay, And had a REP say I needed to talk to my employer about my plan even though I am retired and on their Medicare Advantage Plan. By far the worst customer service also verified by Insurance Agents and Medical office staff.

Would give a ZERO to United Healthcare
Would give a ZERO to United Healthcare. Have had them for 2 years and their customer service reps are in India and are not only un-trained but considerably low IQ or COMMON SENSE. Over and over problems with claims being paid incorrectly and when you finally get a live person they are totally UNPROFESSIONAL. You have to be willing to tolerater their stupidity for 50 minutes before they "get it". I was told today that my prescription was not covered because my plan was terminated..OMG I changed to Blue Cross whose reps are in the US and that isnt effective until January 1st!!! He even told me if I wanted this prescription covered I would have to stay with United Healthcare. I asked for a supervisor and he sent me to an A**hole sales rep who scolded me for being upset..When I told him I was recording the call he quickly cut me off and sent me back to the Customer Service call que....Wow oh wow, I am so adamant about people being ripped off because of these special CSR;s..especially older people who just cant or wont argue with them and give up. Save yourself lots of grief and stay away from this low life company!

My very first interaction was simply…
My very first interaction was simply activating my card and creating an online account. It took 3 different agents and 45 minutes as their online portal was down. Please Lord let their coverage be far better. Beyond a nightmare.

The Worst Company to Deal With
Respected Sirs,
AARP Supplemental Plan : 399182845-11
AARP Part D Optum R/X Plan : 0090057951, 0172335471
I recently received three undated, unsigned letters from your illustrious company, regarding payment problems.
Because they are unsigned, I am unable to directly respond to any of them. I really don't know why they are unsigned.
Only criminals and scoundrels, and imbeciles hide their names. Hence this email is addressed to you.
1. My AARP Supplemental Plans (for 2 people) are fully paid for the whole year 2023.
Check mailed on November 23, 2022. It has been cashed by your company in the amount of $5994.84.
I received a letter two days ago demanding payment for this plan.
Please correct this problem.
2. My AARP United Healthcare Part D R/x Plans (for 2 people) are fully paid for the year 2023.
Check mailed on November 23, 2022. It has been cashed by your company in the amount of $2078.40.
I received a letter two days ago demanding payment for this plan.
Please correct this problem.
3. I also received a letter from Optum R/X stating that I owe $96.20.
This cannot be. Because your Optum R/X pharmacy does not mail any medicines without payment
They charge my credit card first, and then only mail the medicines.
This is the second letter from Optum R/X demanding payment.
I spoke to a nice lady at your headquarters on the telephone after receiving the first demand letter.
She put me on hold, called the Accounting Department at the Optum R/X.
After talking to them, she told me that the letter was an error, and I owe nothing, and asked me to ignore that demand letter.
Now, I receive another an undated letter on December 12, 2022 from Optum R/X demanding that I pay $96.20.
I cannot owe anything for a simple reason: Optum R/X will not ship any medicine without payment.
To put it another way, only after collecting the payment, Optum R/X will ship the medicine.
PLEASE PROMPTLY CORRECT THIS PROBLEM !!
4. Another undated letter says that I signed up dor receiving my statements from your company electronically.
I never signed up to receive the statements electronically.
I want my statements in paper.
There is a simple reason for this.
when my doctor's office tells me that they have not been paid, I can show the paper statement to them and clear it up.
PLEASE REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ITEM BY ITEM.
I am eighty years old. Please have mercy.
It is indeed disgusting that there is no single point of contact to resolve these problems.
A large company such as yours should have a single point of contact for customers to resolve these problems.
Your company should not send undated, unsigned letters.

ANGER AND TEARS
I am a severely disabled individual. I signed up with UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage because my disabilities require the extra benefits they provide. I have been with them for 4 months, and have made countless phone calls to them about various things. I have never be treated SO POORLY by customer service agents. I even tried to file a grievance against one and they refused to provide me with any kind of copy or proof of the grievance (despite assuring me that I would get it at the beginning of the process)!. Im in the process of contacting corporate because I know from friends and family that my experience is not unique. These agents are uneducated - uneducated about the needs of the disabled community, uneducated about more than just the basic things concerning insurance, and uneducated on how to effectively listen and communicate. Some of them have been dishonest and disrespectful. Most of them have no care or compassion for your needs - even when the needs are to keep your body alive. Unitedhealthcare's insurance and benefits are EXCELLENT, but dealing with their advocates and agents is a nightmare that generally leaves me screaming at them and in tears after.

UCH prescription nightmare
UHC will now only fill prescription refills using their own mail order pharmacy OptumRX. They have taken away the ability to use a local pharmacy, even though they are listed as "in-network". You are allowed 2 fills locally then you MUST transition to their lousy mail order pharmacy - or pay full retail locally.
